There are two things I don't want to give up on the face of the chip when regarding backgrounds.
- I don't want to have certain girls look funny with having nothing to "lean on" when we crop the girl out of her background.
- I don't want to lose the "overall color theme" of each chip by using background behind each girl. In other words, when there's a pile of yellow chips in the pot, they need to LOOK YELLOW. If there's a big red '56 Corvette on the face of the chip, it'll look red not yellow, despite the outer color ring.
Some of you might ask why not just copy/paste a circle from the image onto the chip? Well, we tried it and it just doesn't adhere to #2 above. It didn't quite look right and it's not on the table as an option.
Well, what gave me the obvious solution was that banner you see at the top of this post! They took the background and tinted it pink, making the girl really stand out! That's what I would like to do with the chips. This will keep the color theme in check, and still allow the partial backgrounds to be seen.
The two types below ARE on the table. Let me know what you think.
LEFT OPTION: "Rays" on the background ................. RIGHT OPTION: "Tinted" background
* Note that the red and the blue samples are not representative of the whole set... simply because those backgrounds
happened to have already been "mostly" that color anyway! On the bottom chip, that background was a a blue plane and blue sky... not a lot of diffrence in the tinted verion.
