I voted #2. #1 has too many light and dark, closely spaced rays which darken the the girl's entire image. #3 is way too busy - too many rays! #4 has too much light and dark contrast in the widely spaced rays, that again, darkens the image.

#2 is just right. The right amount of spacing of the rays and subtle contrast of light and dark color - light up the girl's face and profile....just a female's perspective, of course!

(BTW, I just used the Spell Check - to confirm that I had spelled "subtle" correctly!)

Isn't that exactly what #2 is? A muted #4?

Moot point now, but # 2 has more "rays", so they do not match with the outer circumference segments of different colors...

Is the radial background still being considered over the tint? The tint looks much better.

Because not having the rays go all the way out to the edge makes the chip less busy & makes the girl jump out more....and that's the whole point of the chip, right?

If the girl wasn't there I think you could talk me into 2 or 3 (it bothers me that the rays on 4 line up exactly with the outside ring segments) but with the girl I like the least obtrusive rays.

Heck the #1 'style' with different ray types may be better than #1, but I think it highlights the girl much better.

Did I convince you? If no, it doesn't matter cuz they should be tinted. If yes, forget what I just said about the rays - they all sting and the chips should be tinted.
