Chips: 6,503 | | Jimmy, I REALLY hope you asked Led before you started this poll because it is in very poor taste to try and undermine the work that he has put into this ASM group buy, just because you do not like one of the chips.
Do not get me wrong, this was probably not your intention and I can appreciate you trying to let people know what the REAL chip looks like since their is a little bit of the unknown involved, but second guessing one chip could lead to the same for other choices. And the same chip that you (and me in this case) find ugly, others may like as it is a personal preference.
Sorry for the preaching, I just want to make sure that this kind of action is not taken the wrong way when Led sees it.

Chips: 14,006 | | | I think Led said he was going to be away today, that's probably why we haven't heard from him.

Chips: 385 | | | I was kind of thinking what shmag said when I typed my post. I don't think the color should be changed because there were a bunch of people that voted for it. But, I did want to let everyone know that the color is definitely more of a mustard color than that lighter yellow pic shows. It would be quite disappointing to order 200 yellow chips and then find out they are much different looking in person than on screen. |

Chips: 21 | | I voted for yellow/brown but now that I see it I wish I hadn't. Problem is this could apply for anybody with any color. Thats why it's probably a bad idea to start trying to change colors. Even though black edge spots on yellow are WAY better than doo doo brown. |

Chips: 224 | | I'd say the actual color is somewhere between those two pictures. Here is a shot that I think most closely matches the Yellow sample I received. |

Chips: 157 | | | Please understand that I am not trying to change the yellow color chip. I am ordering 50 yellows at the most. That is .50 each from ASM vs. .43 each from the group buy. We are talking about $3.50 difference. I am ordering yellows direct from ASM with Yster. Did, however want to post the actual color so people might avoid spending $25-50 on a chip that they would wish they had not bought. I think Led has done a great job funnelling extreme opinions into one fluid buy of these chips. Not to mention the fact that I can get 4 solid horsehead chips which are not available to the public and am saving $60 off retail, I am very happy.
Also, I may have strong opinions, but do not feel I should have to hold my tongue in a public forum. The idea of challenging accepted thought, of debate, point and counterpoint, is the basis for most modern culture. My motivation is not to insult, offend, or undermine the efforts of Led, and if I have offended anyone I sincerely apologize. |

Chips: 6,503 | | Yeah, no worries Jimmy. As I said in my post I believed your intentions were good, my biggest fear was that it would snowball into a big headache for Led and the last thing I want to do is discourange him, or others, from taking charge in future group buys.

Chips: 552 | | | I will send the pics to PC.com and ask call them personally to ask which is closer to the real color. If there's another yellow that's non dayglo I would go for that route. I can live with Ram's mustard yellow but not Jimmy's brownish yellow. I don't think we expected any sort of bright yellow to begin with.
The dayglo yellow chip will be brighter but more brittle and weigh less. If that is an option people are willing to go through we will do it.
For now, let's wait until Tuesday and see. |

Chips: 157 | | | I think the problem is in the spot color, because it brings out the brown tones in the mustard yellow, whereas when paired with a blue edge spot I think it pulls out the brighter tones in the yellow. That is part of color theory in general. All we are talking about with pigments anyway is a range of the visible light spectrum that is being absorbed instead of refracted and the addition of the brown spots allow more darker tones to be absorbed therefore making the chip more brown.
