Chips: 157 | | | OK how can I spell this out so you will understand? I am building a website to sell poker chips online. To that end I have been in dicussion with Matsui, Blue Chip, T R King, ASM and Chipco about having custom chips made. A good friend of mine (who is also a chip junkie) told me about chiptalk and I really enjoy this forum. How does me talking with suppliers ( and just so we are even clearer I have been dealing with a friend of mine from the United Kingdom who works for Matsui Europe) have anything to do with ACE? I saw the design that Grath came up with, loved it and inquired about purchasing rights to the design and ordering 30,000 to 50,000 of them myself to sell on my website (probably making your price a little cheaper in the process). Grath and I came to an agreement and I asked ACE if he had a problem with me ordering a bunch of these and he said no. Now, while he has been waiting for samples the threads died a little even though there were still design decisions to be made to the chip. Someone requested that a poll be placed for a location vote (check the thread) and so I did. Hey, if we have all the specifics done when ACE gets his samples then we won't be wasting time taking care of stuff then that could have been done now. And just who is this "we" Monty? If anyone else thinks that I have done something wrong then I encourage them to step up and tell me so. Otherwise can we please get on with the design process.
Thanks,
James |

Chips: 275 | | | A I understood it, neither Ace nor Jimmy nor anyone else will be turning a profit on the chips purchased via this forum...and anyone can order as many as they would like for later retail, including the aforementioned.
As far as the rights to the design go, Jimmy contacted me and asked what it would take to secure the rights to the chip; I told him.
Because all decisions have been made via polling, neither Ace nor Jimmy have played any significant role in the buy up until this point...but obviously, we need a single representative. Ace is getting samples (advantage Ace)...Jimmy has actually quoted us a price (advantage Jimmy).
The important thing to the people on this forum is that these chips become available, at the best price possible. I'd hate to see this group-buy stalled because a retailer and a squirrel with big balls both want control.
Increase the peace...biatches.
Oh, and if you two can't come to some sort of agreement, I propose a poll pitting Ace against Jimmy. I assume it would be a ChipTalk first...and it would crack me up. |

I think we need to have a vote on whether I should continue running the group buy or should Jimmy take over.
BTW, samples are on route to me as we speak from Matsui | Ace, I mentioned Jimmy high-jacking the group-buy in the other thread and he demanded an apology from me saying I didn't know what I was talking about. This is your group buy Ace and nobody gave Jimmy the right to take over. Jimmy has a habit of coming late to the party and taking over and starting his own polls. He did that for the ASM group buy also. Well Jimmy boy, what do you have to say now? Maybe you should apologize to Ace for sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. | No offense to anyone here, but in the words of Jeff Spicoli...
"If I'm here, and you're here, doesn't that make this our group buy?"
Seriously? Just because Squirrel Nuts made a poll to move decision making along doens't mean he took anything over or that Phillip isn't still the main contact. Phillip being the main contact doesn't make this his group buy.
Let's all have a beer and enjoy the Black Sands. |

Chips: 53 | | | Guys, guys, if you want to turn this into an argument, PM's are the place. Don't scare off potential buyers with this.
One thing that needs clarifying though... as far as I knew, Ace was going to get rights to the design. I had talked with him, and I understood that he would get rights in exchange for running this buy. He isn't making a profit, he agreed to a limited run of the chips, so I don't see why he shouldn't get them (considering he asked weeks and weeks before Jimmy). |

I assume it would be a ChipTalk first...and it would crack me up. | Grath, this is Ace's buy... he hasn't quoted us for a price because he hasn't contacted them... the price Jimmy quoted us for could end up being vastly different from the price that Ace gets us for many reasons. As far as rights to the artwork, see my last post. I promised them to Ace, but that was after talking to Bubba. It seems the problem here is that there was too many sources of input on the design, and I promised the rights to Ace after only speaking to one of them. What do you think about this? |

Chips: 12 | | News Bulletin: Hurricane Hits Black Sands Resort & Casino!
(St.Kitts ... er ... Costa Rica - AP)
In what can only be called a 'world first', a fictional resort in an undetermined location has been suffering the effects of hurricane "Its_MY_GroupBuy". The Black Sands Resort & Casino has been trying it's best to avoid damage by hopping between locations in St.Kitts, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. It is still unknown when the storm will dissipate, or how much damage it will cause. More news will be released as it comes in. Film at 11. |
