Do most people agree that we should cut down on the plain ones? Maybe we just pick 2-3 colors we can all agree on for them - say white, grey, and pink?

Yeah, if I got any plain ones, I think I would just get gray to use as quarters. Since the traditional way is to use unspotted chips as low denoms, having gray, white, and maybe one or two more seems like the way to go to me.

The potential problem we can have in having too variation in plain chips is that we may not reach 10,000 chips to get the 16% discount.

It seems that in order to cater to the most people, the solids should be minimized. Maybe 3 at the most so there are more choices for the combinations; maybe start a poll right now to find out which SOLIDS will have most interest, and ask that only people who are interested in buying solids to vote.

From the results of that vote, it should be possible to narrow it down to the top 5 and then have a final vote to determine which solids will be used. Yes, it takes a while with all this voting but I think it is worth it, and at the same time there can be polls open for the combinational colours. If we had a deadline for the polls I think it would help too because I am sure everyone wants to get their chips sooner rather than later.

I agree that we should poll and have a timeframe established.

It looks like we already got enough votes on 10/5 vs. 8/7 poll to get this thing running quickly.

Yeah, 10/5 sounds like a good division for me. My vote would be for plain gray and imperial blue chips (which I'd use for 25 cents and 10 cents, respectively).

Throw in 2 or 3 more plain color chips and leave the rest for edge spotted ones.

I think we could get by with a 12/3 or maybe an 11/4 split. Of course, I'm only interested in the grey plain ones, so I'm hoping for a better chance at more choices of spot colors for the reds and blues I plan to get.

I think that's reasonable. With 12/3 you could do two sets of standard colors (blue, white, red, green, black purple); one with dayglo edge spots, and one with standard colored edgespots. Maybe only make one white spotted chip, and then you could have one yellow chip too.

The most popular DG colors seem to be:

Red/Arc Yellow
Red/Dayglo Yellow

Green/Dayglo Peach
Green/Dayglo Pink
Green/Dayglo Yellow

Black/Dayglo Green
Black/Dayglo Orange

Purple/Arc Yellow
Purple/Dayglo Pink (or Lavender/DG Pink)

I would request that the "standard" $1000 chip color (Orange or Yellow I believe) be included in either the plain or spotted count.

...on second thought, I could use the pink plain chip as the 1k chip.
