ASM Hourglass Black Sands GB Commitment Thread

The title says it all... Black Sands GB is finaly going to happen. We are going with ASM using the hourglass mold. These will be solids with a mix of Day Glow colors and Standard colors. I have posted mock-ups in this thread, there is also a thread for tweaks as well. With that said this thread is for order commitment. To achive the $0.675 per chip cost we have to hit 2500 chips. I dont see this as an issue but I wanted to throw that out there. So select your choice in the poll above only if you plan to order... Once we have the artwork finalized I will open an order thread and start taking payments.

Details:
Ok I have some updates for everyone... I just got off the phone with Cathy. I first have to say this is my 1st experience with ASM and WOW... Great folks...

Here are the details...

#1 We can use the hourglass mold for this GB... WooHoo!!!
#2 The cost per chip over the 2500 pieces is $0.75 less 10% so $0.675 per (single color solids) I didnt ask about spotted chips as I think the solids are the best fit. If you would like me to check on this let me know.
#3 We can have more than 1 inlay design for this GB as well (cash/tourney)
#4 We can combine colors with inlays, but to stay with the K.I.S.S. method I say just to stay with the colors mocked by Fins... Unless you strenously object to a color.
#5 Shipping. Cathy said she would be willing to ship individualy but there would be a $5 packing fee + actual shipping cost. I dont know what way is cheaper but I will do what everyone else wants to do.

I am in for at least 500 maybe more... The only delimma I am having is what set to order...

Too bad I'm heavily invested in the next Matsui group buy, or I'd be all over these. Can't afford both. I'm defo going for a sample set though. Will I be able to order more of these directly from ASM at a later time (for normal price obviously)?

I'm looking at 1000 of the tournament chips assuming we leave the $2000 chip in there and there are no color changes to the existing set. I like the $2K chip as it makes it easy to use as a cash set as well. If we drop the 2K chip or change the colors on the chips, I'm likely out of the GB.

I'd vote for having ASM do individual shipping. For $5 plus actual cost, it's well worth it.

Haven't answered the poll but right now i'm looking at about 600 chips (cash set). I have four questions though.

1) can we add on at a later date?
2) does asm send extras or should we order some extras?
3) compared to faux clays...are asm's the same thickness? I'm asking b/c I can fit 589 faux's in a chipcase. I am trying to keep the case for now.
4) any estimates on turnaround time or shipping cost for 600 chips?

Just a sample set for me... of both cash and tourney sets (with whatever denominations/colours end up being made). Fins did an AWESOME job on these! Can't wait to see the final product (and see that mold in person).

Only the person who places the order traditionally can order more. Since this is going direct through ASM, your mileage may vary.

Expect a few extras, but order what you need. When I ordered 22, I got 25

Not sure, never handled a faux.

Expect 4-12 weeks for any ASM order.

A question regarding the shipping - does anyone know how much it costs to have them shipped to Canada? And will I be hammered by UPS brokerage/duties/etc? Should I be trying to arrange someone in the US to have the chips mailed to?

The simple answer is yes. On my latest $900 order, I was charged $200 additional dollars in duty, brokerage fees from UPS. I'm having my next ASM shipment sent USPS.

If there's someone you trust in the States to pick up from, it could save you lots.

I got a personal Fedex account as per Palm Imports' old Canadian requirements, and had ASM use it when shipping the "Donkey KGB" group buy chips. Otherwise, ASM prefers to ship via UPS... which will cost you one gonad for actual shipping plus a second 'nad for brokerage/taxes.
