side note -- will there be a poll about the color of the lettering for the chips themselves? I know we said we wanted conformity with the sets (cash & tourney) b ut have we made a decsision on the chip lettering? I would prefer blue lettering for everything

If the regular chip set ends up with a blue gradient with black border - I'd suggest doing the same for the plaque to be consistent.

I don't think that the gradient would look good on the plaque, and I think outlining the text in black would be even worse. The pink, blue and white are all very light in color. Adding a drastic black border would stand out too much and take away from the look that it currently has.
