two options i thought may work well here.
i think the first one may address a few issues we've been talking about the best. more have voted for the orange 100 over the grey, but it was close. so i thought since this set won't have a "$" and we'll have 1 - 5000 plus a 25k plaque, there won't be much need for an ncv. so why not make a grey ncv for anyone totally opposed to the orange 100? i also though maybe switch the 1 to white so we can use the blue for 1000 and yellow for 5000. i only thought this to seperate the orange and yellow a bit more since it has been pointed out that they may be too close in color to be that close in the set (100 and 1000).

please vote for which set up you like better, and feel free to post any other suggestions to consider.

LOL - I was looking REALLY hard at that trying to figure out what the difference was

So maybe I missed something but it looks like the idea of having this a cash game set has gone away? I thought there were a lot of people who wanted it that way - guess not

I will vote for the colors but if it is a tourney set I'm not sure how many I will need/get since I have 2 tourney sets already. we'll see

what do you mean "cash game set"? did you mean all NCV, not denominated? i was up for either, but the denoms have quite a lead. that's why i figured without the "$", you could use 5 for nickels, 25 for quarters, 100 for dollars, etc... if not, we could probably do a 25 cent chip, but we wouldnt be able to 10 cents or 50 cent or anything.

I thought there was a movement/ people who wanted a denominated cash game set with $ symbols. I totally understand/ am good with the non $ denominations being used as low or high values. One of the things I really like about the Condado Beach set is the $2 and $20 chips. I thought we were looking at having one of these as a $20 but I could be waaayyyy wrong. There are so many different sets being discussed on CT I probably got it mixed up. At least one NCV/NDM chip will definitely work for me as the $2 or $20 chip so I should be good to go (and back on track with the discussions )

On a side note - I think there should be more polss started for these - we really don't have enough polls and choices (JK - I love all the options Stank)

Got to go with set #2, I like the white as a 5000 only slightly better than the 1. Very nice design and I wouldn't complain aboout having a set of either.

Of these options, I voted for the 1000 blue and 5000 yellow. While I’d like the 1000 as yellow, I’d be fine with this 1000 blue as well. Tonight, I will take a look tonight at the orange & yellow blanks I have. When I laid out the chips last week, I don’t recall having a concern about them in play at the same time, but I’ll double check.

Polls are nice, but eventually you have to move forward since you can't make everyone happy. Also, things can keep changing as new people get on the board or new offers/ideas show up. Furthermore, I think you covered all the key stuff already. At this time, I think your polls should be for some very specific fine-tuning, not to reopen things.



With that being said, look what I have to throw in the mix (but it is a new question for this set)- Have you considered a set that eliminates the 1000? (I know there was another thread about this topic). The set would then be something like 500-2000-10000 or 500-2500-10000 (and in either case, the plaque would then be 50K).

From a “traditional” perspective, I don’t propose eliminating the 1K. But, from a practical perspective, I find I’m shelling out $$ for 1K chips that don’t do much to reduce the # of chips in play. In our games, I’ve found that I don’t color up to 1K much any more and have been using two different NCV’s as 2K and 5K to reduce the 500s.

To manage my costs, I’ll know I’ll be thinking about whether to buy the NCVs instead of the 1K (but then I’ll pass up on the colors). Or, maybe I’ll just live with a 10x gap between the 500 and 5000. Or, maybe I'll make this a tourney set that starts with 5 rather than 25 (but then doesn't have the highend values or plaques). Aargh...I love & hate this site.

With the Sin City chips on the horizon, I’m going to be saving what ever $$ I can.

i've always liked going 500-2500-10000. but i only really use up to the 500 (T1500), so my opinion doesnt matter much there. UW85 seems to be the one using the most high denoms (of those who have been contributing at least), so i'd be interested in hearing his opinion.

i should say that i voted for the blue 1000, but i REALLY like the 5000 being white. so if the orange and yellow are different enough not to get confused, i would vote the other way. i'm going to check some of my samples when i get home.
