ChipTalk.net Neoprene Table Top: SIZE/SHAPE POLL

Blue still leads the "color" poll... and having either 4 or 8 Chiptalk.net logos along the action line are leading in the "style" poll... Now it's time to confirm the shape and size.

Originally the plan was to make a superior replacement to the now unavailable "Vegas Classic" neoprene topper that Target used to sell. It came in both 72" x 36" (6' x 3') oval and 48" round. Well, this group buy is likely to produce only one size/shape... at least for now... so please indicate your FIRST preference - i.e. if they were available today and you could only have one, which would it be? See these options below, shown to scale but not in particularly high resolution... hi-res versions available upon request (but my web space is pretty much maxed out at the moment - see the "style" poll for some hi-res images of the ovals).

1) Oval 72" x 36" (6' x 3')

or

2) Larger oval: 84" x 42" (7' x 6.5'), etc.
(NOT SHOWN - like above, but bigger in one or all dimensions)

3) Smaller oval: 60" x 36" (5' x 3'), 48" x 30" (4' x 2.5'), etc.
(60" x 36" shown here)

4) Rectangle 72" x 36" (6' x 3')

or

5) Larger rectangle: 84" x 42" (7' x 6.5'), etc.
(NOT SHOWN - almost identical to above, but bigger in one or all dimensions)

6) Smaller rectangle: 60" x 36" (5' x 3'), 48" x 30" (4' x 2.5'), etc.
(60" x 36" shown here)

7) Round 48" diameter

or

Octagonal 48" side-to-side

or

9) Square 48" side-to-side

Sorry, no triangles, hexagons, pentagons, stars, etc...

What about a dodecahedron, or are we limiting these to 2-dimensional objects?

How do the blinds work in 3D poker?

I just wouldn't want to get assigned the seat at the "bottom" of the table...

It crossed my mind to design a set of chips based on the platonic solids - mainly because there are 5 of them and they fit into a nice progression - but felt that my friends aren't quite as big of math geeks as I am... and if they ever noticed that, they might realize why they always lose money to me at poker!

For those that don't have a clue what we're talking about:

It would be kind of hard to read the board from certain seats.

Re: ChipTalk.net Neoprene Table Top: SIZE/SHAPE POLL

I just measured a couple "banquet" tables I have -- both measure 30" in diameter. Being totally selfish here, I'd much rather have 30" than 36" due to overhang. Again, I'd be buying these for fund raiser events I do and totally understand others who plan on putting them on dinner tables etc which are probably wider. Like I said, just a thought. My vote goes for the 36" width by 6' oval at this point -- I could always cut it.

Re: ChipTalk.net Neoprene Table Top: SIZE/SHAPE POLL

Remember, too big is worse than too small. Overhanging edges make for lots of "pulled" table tops.

Re: ChipTalk.net Neoprene Table Top: SIZE/SHAPE POLL

We have been using these on banquet tables for over a year now with no problems or complaints (except the A's in the center) everyone loves them.
You will not notice the little overhang which is like an inch on each side.
And why did you guys change the color of the blue after the vote?
Leave the darker blue.

Cool Oldcycles -- I believe in NOT reinventing the wheel -- if you've used the same sized layout and it works, great. I also like the dark blue BTW. It might be just some abberation (sp?) due to computers & monitors?
