I have spoken with many interested in getting rid of Insane_Irish as our leader, and his attitude. If the majority say to get rid of him, we will hold a poll for who will be the new leader. Preferably someone with some seniority around her. Spacemonkey, Lumpy, CNC, and JO Jo come to mind. I would even do it, but don't necessairly want to.

Update: I would like to keep Matthew on. Another option if Irish gets voted out, is to have Matthew pick someone he wants to work with (obviously other than Irish).

Insane and Matthew are responsible for us even having the option of 1/4" spot chips, coupled with the fact that JimB/ASM want to keep things simple and speak to one person for this, I'm disinclined to change things when they're this far along. I think what's got everyone up in arms is the inclusion (or exclusion of a couple of choices). This can be worked out without undoing where we are so far.

It seems to me up to this point there was good progress. Sure not everyone was happy, but it seemed there were at least a chip, sometimes several chips that had folks interested or at least satisfied they'd have a choice. I think I've read the discussion threads as deeply as anyone and there was going to be a little something in this for everyone. On the flip side a lot of compromise is going to get called for. There were 126 suggestions for pete's sake, getting that narrowed down to 12 meant there was going to be some pain. There all seems to be a fairly great disparity about people's financial commintment to this. Several folks are in, across the board between buys, for a lot of chips, than there are several just getting minimums but in all of that everyone has had a voice.

There's no doubt that Insane's manner is brusque to say the least, but a lot of this probably should've been taken off line.

If this buy gets f'd up over some personality clashes I will be one pissed off mother******. I've waited for a chance like this for 8 years and it's so close I can taste it.

In the end having Insane and Matthew at the helm should stay, but I think folks' concerns can be probably be addressed. I think the unsatisfied parties should indentify their specific chip concerns, as long as their not outside of the tacit agreement from the initial discussion phase.

I think anonymous is not the way to go. Let's lay our cards on the table and discuss this.

There's nothing to blow. We've all decided we want these chips. I would just like to see someone that can handle things w/o being effected by a "bad day" or headache. No matter what happens, the order will be submitted to ASM when we are done, that is not the issue.

My apologies Capt. Lego, I thought this board had autocensor, didn't want to offend or create more work.

As far as this issue, as I see it this is all over one Green Choice and the Purple, which confuses me as Green was probably one of the most suggested but least discussed and Purple which seemed like an easy overwhelming call for 614-2 (though quantity is the question I would have there).

Can we not sort this amongst ourselves.

Why not just have someone not getting the chip in question and who is not Insane or Matthew review all the info, though in the end I think folks with a vested interest in a particular chip should be given a chance to discuss it down rendering the poll mostly formal as was (of should be) the case with Grey 214, Blue 414 White, Orange 614-2, and Black 414-2 DG Green & Imperial Blue. Look at those specific discussions. The participants narrowed down their choices, with plenty of give and take, and there was backing in number (and order quantity) that make them fairly easy choices IMO. I think we can get there with these contentious choices.

Let's not f*** this up.

If the vote is in favor of a new leader, and you're serious , I figure anyone interested will be entered into the poll for new leader. Someone who has either ran a group buy or participated in many would be ideal.

When this buy started, I thought CNC (circle) would be running it. At some point Irish did take the ball and run, which I respect, but I do not appreciate how he has responded to many.

This is not about a particular chip. It is about tact and lack of. There is nothing to F*** up, at the end the order will be submitted one way or another.
