TR King Group Buy (Edgespotted)... # Of Denominations

Alright, the two major factors concerning price in this group buy are the number of denominations and the number of edgespots and different colors of edgespots that we use. Obviously, one leads to the other since the more denoms we have the more edgespots we'll be using. So, we need to decide how many denoms we want to have. Personally, I like the denoms to just go up by 4 or 5 and not to mess around with "tweeners". But this is your group buy and there's been some talk of a $2 chip or $10 chip. So make your vote here and we'll move on to edgespot patterns once we know how many denoms we'll have.

Pick your priority first... price vs. customization. If price is more important, you want less denoms... if customization is more important, you'll want more denoms to fit your set the way you want it. My personal vote is for 25˘, $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $2500, to make the set totally unique.

Couple ideas:

An NCV?
Use 1 chip design with multiple inlays? Take the $500 chip and put a $2 inlay on it.

Most of the people that have spoken up have talked about cash games. How many people want high denoms? I would be satisfied if this was just a cash game set. I will probably get some Black Sands for tourney chips anyway.

Wouldn't bother me one bit, either... but I know there are people who want tournament chips. We're like going backwards in polls here...

I would also be willing to have the top end chip be a $500 to be able to get a tweener or two in the mix.

I think a standard set .25 1 5 25 100 500 (1000?) and at least 1 non-denom chip would solve a lot of problems.

No problem here with having an NCV chip. Doesn't affect me at all but would help anyone that wants a tweener chip.

Nice avatar!

Re: TR King Group Buy (Edgespotted)... # Of Denominations

In my games we use the $1000 chip not a $2500 so I’m hoping we can get the $1000 chip. I was wondering how many people use a $50 chip in their games as I don’t seem to hear much about this chip. Our tournament games use 25 50 100 500 1000. If I can’t get the $50 chip I can live with that but if there is no $1000 chip then I may have to pass on this group buy. But I’m only one person so whatever the group decides will be fine by me. I think the most important selling point for me will be how the overall chip looks with the color, edge spots and logo.

I say we go with either 1 5 25 100 500 1000 or 1 5 25 100 500 2500 and have a vote on whether the majority wants the 1000 or the 2500. Once that is settled then I say we go with 2 or 3 tweeners and have another vote with 5 0r 6 choices and go with the top 2 or 3.

Re: TR King Group Buy (Edgespotted)... # Of Denominations

Lets keep moving forward. This poll might have too many options, but I think we'll be able to see how many want tweener chips.

I was expecting a poll on Tweener, or No Tweener. No tweeners for me.

I like this group buy because of its uniqueness: Custom Inlay; Varied edgespots; and the possiblity of a $2500 chips just adds to it. I can live w/o that $2500 chip, but would like to avoid the tweeners in order to save money.

Re: TR King Group Buy (Edgespotted)... # Of Denominations

While i think a $2 chip would be cool, it does cause more problems than it is worth. I would be happy with a no denom chip (rather it did not say NCV) -

we could have just $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1000 and a "ncv".

The "ncv could be a $0.25, $0.50, $2, $2500 or $5000 - THe people that want a $2500 chip can skip the $1000 and use the ncv. I currently use a no-denom chip for my fractional chips. Usually as a $0.25, but I have used it as a $0.50 chip (even a $20 chip - it is yellow) - I prefer denoms, but this would save money. One nodenom chip in the game does seem to work well. You get that question everyone loves " how much are these again" a lot less when all the other chips on the table are denominated.

Or $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, two "ncv"

Or my first choice $.025, $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1000, "ncv" -

If using this last choice the ncv could be white and people who really want a white $1 can get the "ncv" instead of the $1 chip.

Thinking of ways to make everyone happy - but get a good price at the same time.
