Re: Bellagio Tribute Final chips!

This buy wasn't intended to have lined up edge stripes so to be angry your not going to get any that are lined up just seems silly.

  • Now (I assume), the non-lined up orders will be filled with rejects from the lined-up production.
  • Now I have a 0% chance of getting lined up edge spots.

Yeah I didn't want to poo-poo on Joe's parade. I've said from the beginning that I was getting these, non-aligned, ragrdless of what was offered down the road. I was looking forward to *some* aligned-by-happenstance chips, but I assume I won't be getting any of those now...

I guess I should have asked Joe if my assumption (that the best aligned will be used to fill the aligned orders and the rejects will fill the non-aligned orders) was correct instead of coming off sounding like a pr!ck...

Edit: FTR, I'm not angry...I'm disappointed. But I think allowing both *in this GB* is better than offering only non-aligned in this GB and aligned in a later GB... It will help get the numbers up. And I never expected to get aligned edgespots (I just hoped for a few), so if I don't get them, c'est la vie...

How does the ceramic process work? A chip label that is slightly larger than the chip itself is placed over the chip face and then "cut to size"? That's all I can think of that would result is a slightly off center label...

I believe that the image is actually printed on the chip itself. I assume that perfect alignment of the chip on the printing machine is difficult to achieve.

10 of my recently purchased bounty chips only had an image on one side. The other side was plain white (the color of the "blank" they use for printing).

Re: Bellagio Tribute Final chips!

I got the rest of that batch Brakedust... 20 of my 50 Bounties were like that... they were first ones i saw and I was major bummed/disapointed when i thought that was how they were to be. when i opened second bag and saw correct ones i felt whole lot better knowing how nice they were. Gene of course made it right immediatly. They do a great job at ABC

ive mentioned this numerous times but OTB keeps saying the size is the same. ive been ridiculed by him about it. he says that its an optical illusion that on the real chips the size looks bigger because of the lighter color makes the darker color smaller. it is clear now that this is not the case. they are not the same size as i have been saying all along.

i dont care about lining up the edges i just care about getting the sizing right. and this would have nothing to do with centering the face of the chip. i hope OTB and Joe reconsider the size of the edges on the 25 and 100 chip.

edit: i am postponing my order until i find a difinitive answer if this will be fixed or not.

He should know since he designed the chips. It makes perfect sense...it's the same reason solid billiard balls are nicknamed: small ones and, striped billiard balls are nicknamed: big ones.
