Although, its obviously a trick question, because geisha girls do not sweat. They exude. | Thanks! edited for accuracy Quote: |

Gratz on your set! | Same to you man! P.S. wish I was the photographer you are - I'm wondering why I don't get better than I do (what with using a tripod and all) Our digital is decent, but it's not an SLR - of course then I'd have the learning curve
Also, same to you Eli - the one hi-res you have on pg 4 of this thread blows me away. |

Tripods are great, as keeping the camera still is key...
Honestly, I am by no means a photographer.
My digi is a dinosaur (2.1 pixels)...i just try to rely on good, direct sunlight, and Im heavy on the macro.
Oh and I dont use the flash...pretty much ever.
Camera's are cool...was the wide shot you took enabled by a setting or just a different camera altogether?
And CNC's shot are sweet..love the dealer button pic..its cool to see a small stack of them!

Chips: 1,033 | | | Re: Samurai Group Buy Photos Well, our cam is a Fuji digital (S 3100) it's a 4.0 megapixel - the thing with it is holding it still the higher the resolution, the more important that is - This goddamned thing, I think the rotation of the earth makes it "move" too much
Well, more accurately - if I had a remote - or when I use the timer...
The wide pic is simply full resolution cropped to a palatable size (with more top and bottom cropped and less sides)
Since I'm still in the paleolithic era here (on dial-up) {no, DSL isn't even available} I tend to use smaller filesizes, and prefer thumbnails - But!, I resent that! And, i fully appreciate the higher res pics
I really get a kick out of CnC's pics which show the subject sharp and the background out of focus. (a stack of dealer buttons - why you...)
What I have noticed with boon's... (and I also really like) ...is the use of natural light...
You know what really sells me on these chips???
THIS! ................................

...YESSSsss!!!...
when I told ilyu2 that some people had mis-labels, she went through my samurais and found the 1 I have (only one...)

Im rockin' the Fuji 2400.
No tripod, i just try to rest my elbows or forearms on something to keep it still. Quote: |

a sample I can see with my eyes with out these measures. I am
not saying they don't exist, but personally I think this whole situation is
way out of hand. | This is what I can't believe... some people's children???
Here BC goes way out to get us a product at THIS level, and these crybabys are hassling mspatton with nearly indistinguishable chips. I myself was amazed (actually somewhat disappointed) they turned out with this awesome QC.
I actually like having a little goofiness. |

Chips: 6,624 | | | Re: Samurai Group Buy Photos I just got my samples last night and I'm very impressed! Like many others, I'm not into the Japanese theme, but the chips themselves are incredible. The muted colors are perfect.
Has anyone weighed them yet?
What's the story with the mold and whether HPC and/or Blue Chip will do the mold and heavier weight on other runs? |

Weight:
(from fizzywizzy)
Red - 9.31 grams w/ std dev of ~ 0.05 grams
Green - 9.53 grams w/ std dev of ~ 0.04 grams
Black - 9.70 grams!! w/ std dev of ~ 0.01 grams
Diameter:
(from k_woods)
most are 1.564" so a quick conversion is to 39.725mm.
My $1 are 1.566" converted to 39.776mm.
The dealer chip is 1.567" converted to 39.801mm
...and yes HPC owns the mold and does have plans for other chips to be made. Michaels already posted pics of the blank solids with the 'T' mold on his site.

Chips: 29,466 | | | Re: Samurai Group Buy Photos Here's a few pics to add to the collection:
#1 The 25cent chip. This is fairly typical of my samples, in terms of the inlay roundness and alignment.
#2 A $5 chip. This is the worst from my two sample sets, in terms of inlay quality. It also has an "extra" spot. I have no real problem with this chip, and wouldn't mind at all using it in a game.
#3 The "flash" I was talking about. This extra material at the corner of the chip makes shuffling even harder than the usual square corners of new clay chips. I doubt this would take very long to wear away as the chips get broken in (or it could be easily removed). I just wanted to get a picture of it while it was new.
#4 The "Nevada" mold ghost on a $500 chip. This puppy is a collector's item for me. I like it.
