Re: Chip or Treat! ---LARGE AB IMAGES---
Not to take away anything from these nice-looking chips, but I would have liked to have seen these on a Chipco vice NJ ceramic. I think the art work would have transferred over much cleaner/sharper.

I concur. Although I think part of the reason was cost and NJ gave them a great deal. I have a few sample sets of the AB and the NJ quality just can't compare to Chipco. I'm not talking about spinners either. The graphics look a lot sharper and crisper on a Chipco. The edges feel a lot better too and the shuffle smoother too. Just seems to be a better quality chip. Personal preference of course but I don't envision myself buying a set of NJs. I love my 2005 WSOP Chipcos but as far as feel goes, nothing compares to clay, especially Paulson clay. It's got a feeling thats hard to explain but yet so gratifying to play with. My ASM set can't hold a candle to the Paulson clay feel. Ok, I'm going to need a moment alone with my Pharoah's now...

Can't complain with the sample set I got.
But wouldn't any of the chip makers have some distortion in thier chips?, and how much?

I think it has a lot to do with the surface texture that NJ uses on their chips. The Chipcos have a smooth texture. The NJ Ceramics have almost a sandpaper texture. It presumably helps with the stacking and makes the chips less slick, but it also makes the graphics more blurry. I much prefer Chipcos, too, but all things are relative. The NJs are fine chips compared to most of the schlock out there -- I'm pretty certain I'd find playing poker using the ABs a much better experience than using the standard dice chips.

Well-stated. I ordered a sample set of these. Of couse I like pics of girls, but they feel cheap.

I agree that the images would be better on chipcos, the Egyptians are amazing, but I think the American Beauties are still hold up to their name.

Re: Chip or Treat! ---LARGE AB IMAGES---
It just comes down to the texture of the chip.
With a smooth surface, the picture will look more clear. Period.
I like the NJ's, the feel of the chip, and the way they stack. I unfortunately only have 6 sample chipco chips, but I think I can stack my NJ's higher...(without spinners of course!)
