but SIKE does mean, to play with ones mind, or to trick somebody, or claim one thing to take it away at the last minute...
so i guess it would be playing with ones "psyche"...and could be a direct derivative of the word....
kinda how people call each other "boo", which most likely derived from "beau"?
i dono, im acting like a real STONER right now, but it makes sense in my world....

| | | If I may add my 2 cents...with all due respect to the proof you all supplied, when I was growing up in the late 70's the slang word was "sike" just as Daniel used it. Now all slang will not (and in many cases should not be found in the dictionary) and in most cases is inappropriate English.
Regarding Phat, the slang term was created first (I'd say in the early 90's) and then and at some point someone decided to add this slang term to the dictionary as a word...but the slang saying among urban youth proceeded the term being added to the dictionary |
