::CLOSED:: **Official GroupBuy - (Samurai Palace - Custom Bluechip)

**Official GroupBuy - (Samurai Palace - Custom BlueChip)

Detailed image of the front and back of the chips is at the bottom of this page.
Total chips ordered by members as of 10:40pm EST 10/13/05: 25,380
The numbers above are manually updated and may not reflect your order if placed recently.

The Samurai Palace chips are the result of months of design work and have been directly influenced based on Chiptalk.net users votes and input. While much of the design is similar to the original mockups I made we all know its the details that count and it has been with your help that this design has developed into what I believe to be some pretty fantastic chips.

HoldemPokerChips.com has agreed to handle this group buy. As most of you know HoldemPokerChips.com has a great deal of experience with GB's as they have already facilitated the Egyptians, and Chipco Suits and the hugely successful Paulson Pharaoh’s group buys. With out question Holdempokerchips.com is a trusted retailer and will supply you with the highest level of service.

The chips:
Samurai Palace chips are going to be manufactured by The Bluechip Company. As many of you know Bluechip manufactures chips for some of the most prestigious casinos in the country. They are truly committed to the Samurai Chips and have gone to great lengths to satisfy our demands for quality and design.

The weight will be 9.4-9.9 grams though most chips are expected to average around 9.7. This means these will on average be one of if not the heaviest Bluechips on the market and a true "casino quality chip".

The mold is 100% original and has not been featured on any other chip. It is a timeless design that would compliment virtually any inlay.

The over all texture of the chip can not be absolutely predicted, however every detail will be looked at with the expectation to create a soft, creamy feel, with good grip and exceptional stackability.

The inlay will have a linen finish so as not to detract from the texture of the chips.

Ordering:

** DISREGARD THE ORDERING INFORMATION BELOW. All orders should now be placed with Holdempokerchips.com at the following link - http://www.holdempokerchips.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AYSET165

Your first step is to complete the "Promise to Pay" form to reserve your chip set. This lets the group get an assessment of how many chips we'll be buying as a group.

Shipping:
Shipping will be available to virtually everywhere. At the time of payment you will be given a choice of various shipping carriers and the applicable fees will be added to your purchase.

300 minimum total order

No minimums on denomination meaning you could, for example, order 1 black and 299 green if you chose.

Payments will be made directly to HoldemPokerChips.com via Paypal AFTER the groupbuy is complete.

** Please Use the "Promise to Pay" form now to reserve your chip set!

Group Price:
The chips will be available after the group sale is over and the price for the GroupBuy will be $.86 for each chip. After the group sale is over expect something around $1.25 ea.
**Individuals who purchase chip sets (300+) during the Group Buy, will have an extra 30 days after the Group Buy to purchase chips at the $.90 price!

Time Frame:
No dates are settled upon just yet. But estimates for the manufacturing of the mold it self is 4-6 weeks plus 4-6 weeks to manufacture the chips plus the time to deliver to HoldemPokerChips.com and then to you.

Tell your friends and family about the group buy. Tell your friends on other forums! Without breaking any rules, use the URL to this thread:

*Note: While this is a collaborative effort among many poker chip enthusiasts, I retain all rights for the designs and decisions. Polls are for gathering opinions and usually the results are followed, but I can change designs at any time. - Eli (Circlencircle)

Come on now...

The entire concept here is restraint and style... Among other things, I am a musician; so I equate it to this... Just because I can play a blazing guitar solo doesn’t mean I should do it in every song... Some songs needs subtle picking and muting of the strings while others demand all out distortion... I would look at each one of these chips as a song on and album... They all need to come together to make a whole but each on is its own thing...
I'm not suggesting you make the edgespots day-glo red, white and blue, but you have the opportunity to make absolutely unique looking chips here. Why make one (and only one) look like a run-of-the-mill chip? Seeing these chips for the first time should make someone's jaw drop, not make them think "been there, seen that".

The more I look at these the more I like the inlays. I might order a small set of 300. I dont like the $1000, but I like the rest. The $.25 is definately unique, I like that.

here's my .o2:

I liked the .5o being plain, but the new revision does not bother me - I like an asymmetrical chip - just seems like a play for a higher value chip.

On the 1.oo chip; agreeably, four spots is common w/ fantasy chips, but if sooner dsoesn't like 2 - maybe alternate white spots w/ the gray for a 3-color chip? (4-spots-2white, 2gray) OR, swap the .5o concept w/ the 1.oo concept while retaining the progression where higher value chips are progressively a more complex design.

I too noticed the 312 design w/ the 5oo chip. Perhaps retaining the 312 spacing but with 2 (1/4") spots (possibly one being the non-brown)

Speaking of the "non-brown," I see it hear and there, the set practically begs for the 5ooo chip to come along - AND I like it just the way it is.

Now, I already posted that I would be interested in 3oo chips. My thing is the timeline. I don't want to say "this many" plus "this many" then have confusion down the road. I will buy as many as I can afford - just don't let the timeline sneak by me CnC... BTW, I liked it the way it was, I like it now, and I probably will like what you come up with if you change again...

I really like the changes to the 25¢ chip. I've seen actual casino chips with that sort of pattern, and I think it looks pretty cool. I prefer the original $1 with 4 thin edge spots, I think it looks very good on a $1 chip. The newer one isn't too bad, I guess, just not as good.

I'm still not sure about that $1000 - maybe the actual colours on the chip would look different, but the edge spots seem to be too close to the body colour. I also like the idea of having a $5000 chip, but I'm not totally sold on the colours. Maybe my opinion will change, or the chip will change.

I'm very close to comitting to at least 300 chips, I just have to figure out my finances for the next two months before doing so. School can be expensive (as well as other chip sets I want to get!)

I should mention that the design of the $.25 chip that I like the most was the original, with no edge spots.

I like simple designs on very low (under $1) denom chips.

Hi circlencircle!

Just wanted to say your chip designs are awesome! I didn't think you could improve the designs, but you did. I like the changes you've made! Either way, I'm in! I hope we hit the 10,000 mark soon.

The new spots on the .25 and the $1 are excellent. I think the $1 would looke better if the edgespots weren't so fat. How about a triple edgspot like the $500, but instead of the middle edgespot being body color, have one of the edgespots on the side body color?

The $1000 is a little off, but not bad.

Nice CnC. I like that new 0.25 chip a lot. I'm not crazy about the new $1 chip though since you have the high denoms with wide edgespots. The original $1 with thinner spots looked better and fits the progression.

I'm definately looking at increasing my sample set order or getting a small set now.

How about samurai family crests on the reverse side?

http://www.samurai-archives.com/crest1.html

(click on the links at the top for more)

Some suggestions:

I would have these black on a gray background (reverse of the other side) and then replace "Hotel and Casino" with the name of the house that goes with the symbol (found on the link above).

just my .02
