| I realize this is just academic if this buy never comes back to life, but it's still fun to talk about....
I'm starting to be convinced by some of the other ideas in this thread.
What does everybody think of the following plan?
Keep the goal of this set as a "big tournament" set, but drop the tie-in to WSOP. Allows us to be more flexible with the inlay, colors, and denoms. (The main point in my mind has always been the idea of throwing around millions in the pot, so IMHO the big tournament theme has to stay no matter what else changes.)
Reduce to 5 denoms and fix the ratios. I would suggest we do:
5,000
25,000
100,000
500,000
1,000,000
This is basically equivalent to your typical 5/25/100/500/1000 setup, making a T-1,000,000 tournament very straightforward.
Use the current molds in the current order, but play with the colors to add a bit more variety/uniqueness. Don't constrain ourselves to WSOP colors, and don't just mimic the traditional red/green/black/purple/yellow progression.
Open up the inlay design to new ideas.
Thoughts?
P.S. Looks like the Chipco 2004 WSOP buy is nearing conclusion, so anyone wanting something closer to the WSOP theme can still jump on that one. |
