Matsui Decal WSOP Chips (UPDATED 8/7)

I have been in contact with matsui about making a decal chip (bud jones style) along the lines of the WSOP chips. I have recieved artwork from matsui. The artwork is below. The molds are not binding. I was looking to see if there is interest in these chips, and to see if anybody would like to get a group buy going. The Bud Jones mold CANNOT be used in this buy. We are limited to the matsui molds. The price per chip will be under .90/ chip.

This is the latest updated mockup. (7/25/05)

I am currently selling Chipco Vineyards through ebay and my website, TheChipStack. I am thinking of inviting other retailers into the buy. I will see how many orders we get and how much money I will have to put up. 100,000 isnt the minimum order as far as I know, but that is the quantity which I got a quote for. A smaller order will only drive the prices up, and I want to keep this buy under .90 per chip

I think the mold for the 25k should be changed, because its too plain for a high value chip, and i think the mold on the 5 and 10k should be switched, it would look more like the chips used this year.

A friend of mine who is in LA currently (playing at the bike tonight) and just came from the WSOP (played in it last year too) was commenting via E-mail about the chips (I sent him a link as he's interested in some WSOP style chips). His comments are below, take them for what you want, but he's seen the real chips up close on a few occasions so he's probably not a bad guy to get info from.

Quote:
The 5000k should be more checkerd. The side of the 1000 is more yellow and the 5000 is more black with a off yellow. The 10000 should be switched in color and the 25,000 is no where close. Need to be bright Fushia.

I liked the 2004 versions better too. I also liked the $25 chip just b/c the green added a nice diversity to the chips.

That said, they'll still be strong to medium strong.

I've always liked the decal chips. I'd be in for 600-700 of these. I also love the high denomination chips. I would definitely change the molds around though. Here are my suggestions for the molds. The current 5,000 mold is the most basic mold and should be on the 100 chip. I would put the current 100 mold on the 10,000 chip, and the current 500 mold on the 1,000 chip. This would differentiate them a little. The 1,000 chip would be more yellow and the 10,000 would be more black. The current 10,000 mold should be on the 5,000 chip, it just reminds me of the actual 5,000 chip for some reason. Put the current 1,000 mold on the 25,000 chip (the black and scarlet look great together) and the current 25,000 mold on the 500 chip (again putting a more basic mold on a lower denom chip) and were done! The 50,000 chip is fine. Just some suggestions but I think the changes would work well on the chips.

I like those suggestions.

I also checked out the matsui website for the decal molds at http://www.matsui-gaming.co.jp/e/chip/decal.html (just click cancel if it asks you to download the translator) and noticed some other interesting molds. Fcuk, are the 3 color molds more expensive? And it looks like the 43 molds are larger than the 40? I guess the 43s would cost more but if not, it would be sweet to have a larger chip, non-denom for flexibility, bounty, champion, whatever...

I did a little cut and paste with the values to match your suggestion...
