hello and a couple of newbish questions

First off hello!!! Been following the forum for a bit and just joined so hello.

Been trying to think of the perfect theme and style of a chip that would go for a future chip buy. Would it be possible to get different labels on different denominations, like the picture of caesar on one and then some other roman leader on another denom(giving each denom a different picture but on the same type of layout)? Would it just be too expensive?

Also, is there any other way to do a design without being familiar with photoshop or corel(or any of the detailed programs)?

Welcome to chip talk----and yes anything can be done that you can think of, just have to hook up with the guys with the talent. sorry but i`m not one of them i can barely use my computer let alone design chips, but there are others on this site that can do it for sure. Again welcome and feel free to talk about anything here--------the only dumb question is the one not asked so type away.

labels are cheap, and you can certainly do a different label on each.

cin0s3 sells labels at a reasonable price. i recomend PM'in him. look around the boards, and you'll find plenty of examples. tell him what you want, and he'll whip you something up.

welcome.

Yeah, Cin0s3 could turn out to be exactly the design help you would need. And doesn't this belong in another section?

I was thinking about having them manufactured that way, not really interested in buying the stick on labels seperately. Aren't the labels that are pressed into the mold alot more durable?

Yup.. and 10x more expensive.

Companies that make custom labels will be very flexible on your requests, as long as the images are not copyrighted.

You have lots of options if you want them manufactured, especially if you do not mind going composite. Check out the ChipTalk Store and look at the Chipco Egyptians to get an idea of how detailed and colourful you can get, the sky is pretty much the limit but like it has already been said, the price is also sky high.

But I am intrigued with your notion of a Roman chipset. While I know little of the Roman empire, my favorite books were 'I, Claudius' and 'Claudius the God' by Robert Graves and they dealt with a lot of Roman history which I found fascinating.

If time is not an issue I would go with ASMs for Clay.
or ChipCo for ceremics, although they will cost more...

i'm just checking the boundaries to see what I can do when I design the chip of my dreams.

the roman/greek thing would be cool if you could incorporate a different historical figure for each denomination.

another cool theme i was thinking would be mythological gods/goddess's. like apollo, zeus, aphrodite.

I also just thought about one with the different leaders from the great empire's of the world. ie...... cleopatra, atilla, ghangis khan, caesar, napolean, and others.

what are some other really cool themes people could think of???

being this would be my dream set, time probably wouldn't bother me too much, and money either(i don't want to pay 1.5 though)

(if this is in the wrong forum i apalogize to the mods)

I like the leaders of empires theme idea.
