Chips: 845 | | | Re: Official Samurai Palace sample set group buy! Guess it would depend on how many Boston (or whoever ends up doing this sample buy) buys for themselves. May end up with more than just 1 or 2 dealer buttons. I don't like the idea of auction (naturally) maybe it should just be random, and someone will be very happy when their samples come... |

You'll have to talk to Boston about that though. | Fair enough, it was worth a shot.
I would certainly pay for one, but won't get into any kind of bidding if it comes to that.
Though in all honesty I can't say that I've ever been a fan of arbitrarily creating "limited edition" or "rare" things when there is more demand than the number being created. However, I'm not running the group buy, so I'll keep quiet.
Thanks!

Yeah, I think Boston should get however many he would get for his own order, then the rest should be given away at random to the sample buyers. Like tickets for a raffle, each sample set purchased should count as one ticket. So if you bought 2 sets, your chances of winning a button would be 2/171 (or 4/171 if there are two buttons available).
I love gambling.
I probably wouldn't bid for them though. |

As far as I am concerned, the dealer buttons (and I mean all of them) rightfully belong to Boston since he is the one running this sample group buy so in my mind he can do whatever he wants with them. Without him stepping up none of us would be getting anything so it is tough for me to support the notion that they belong to anyone but Boston.
When you consider the time and effort it has already taken for him to maintain the list of interested buyers for these sample sets, then when the money starts coming in there is more work ahead, and let's not forget all the shipping hassles.....you see where I am going?

Chips: 845 | | | Re: Official Samurai Palace sample set group buy! After re-reading my own post, that is kinda what I thought too when I read it.
I should have typed "could be random" since really, he does deserve more than just our gratitude for the whole buy. I can barely imagine the amount of time spent getting this ready.
What I'd settle for though right now, is some word that he's alive and kicking.... Haven't heard from him in a while. |

Then the question to me is, are the dealer buttons worth the hassle of doing this again since I already have most of your addresses from the AB samples buy? I'll keep an open mind, but not sure I want to.
Later,

Chips: 845 | | | Re: Official Samurai Palace sample set group buy! I'd have to go back through, but I thought Circle had said he may take over if Boston couldn't finish the buy. (he's done a lot of work already)
I'm sure there are a few (more than a few) people capable of handleing the buy, if I wasn't so darn stretched thin, I might try. Maybe in a few months I'll step up when another nice set comes out. 3 weeks and counting until I'm in my new office/gameroom/fortress-of-solitude. |

Obviously, if he wants them (which I don't see why he wouldn't) I'm sure everyone would be happy to let him have them. The button chips would not even cover the work done to run the gb. But it would be really cool if he randomly sent someone a button. I figured people would be like "shutup potatoe, I wanted a shot at that button" | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
