Defect chips and the AMS group buy, who gets them?

Ok here is my question . How many extra (for defective chips) are we going to get with a 500 order?

It looks like they give you 50 extra chips with a 500 piece order. (that’s from www.homepokertourney.com) If I don’t get any extras, that reduces the savings dramatically.

Here’s an example if I buy 500 chips +50free I pay $250.00 or .45 a chip and get the exact colors I want.

Or I can buy 500 chips for $215.00 or .43 a chip and have to pick from the set colors and hope I get no defects.

I know with a 20,000 chip order there should be 2,000 free chips for defects, who is keeping these?

I got the impression that the ASM defects, for the most part, were do to labeling issues from pokerchips.com and not with the actual structure of the chip...but if the faster turnaround to get chips (4-6 weeks vs. 12 weeks) and the ability to buy solid color chips aren't a big factor for you, then I say the group buy may not be in your best interest.

The extras are really intended for inlay chips, as PC.com told me. They said will include some extras for our order, but it will be nowhere near the 50 per 500 as shown on homepokertourney.com. I think that much is even rare for inlay chip orders.

I mentioned this a couple of times on the main ASM thread. I will pass along all the extras to the buyers proportionally, but do not expect that there will be 10% extras. I do not appreciate the implication that I will be keeping these. You can call and ask PC.com yourself if you do not believe me.

I think he was just asking a legitimate question and not implying that you would keep the extras. It is a good thing to have that out in the open before any deal.

He already did have it out in the open. It was discussed early on in the group buy thread.

i agree that it was a legintimate question considering the massive amount of topics and messages one would have to read to be 100% on the up and up.

led, to avoid this kind of question coming up just add this deatil to the frist post of the group buy thread.

I actually think people SHOULD be going through old threads rather than posting new ones to avoid asking questions that have been answered numerous times. That is what the Search feature is there for; it would really get nasty in here if everyone just posted the same, redundant questions in new threads all the time. I say quit being lazy and take a couple moments to check first, it does not take that long to skim through the ASM thread, it is only at 12 pages.

Led, you should add this info to the buy info (first) page in the group buy thread.
