Chips: 951 | | | new homepokertourney.com group buy section was just browsing homepokertourney.com and noticed that they now have a section listing current group buys! i'm sure i'm not the first one to notice it, but i thought that i would post this to show members who haven't seen it or who haven't ever checked out homepokertourney.com. it's really a great reference site. it seems like all the group buys going on here at chiptalk are now being promoted there. that's great! here's a link to the group buy section.

All-in chips (no group buy for those..) and HPC. All others that sell chips are so big they'd not likely care, and the rest are poker sites or other affiliates. And none of them it appears would suffer from links to ChipTalk (or any other forum). I don't know... you could be right but it doesn't seem likely.
I invited Barry to speak his mind here in the last email to him. I never get responses from my emails at all, unless he's angry about something. (the latest grievance was that he doesn't get one of my seven foot banners). |

Chips: 15 | | I specifically found your site and pokerchipreviews.com because of homepokertourney.com
Can't everyone just get along
At any rate Ten, you have a great thing here and hpt has indicated that he doesn't want direct communication about anything and references PCR for all reviews. I think his site is great for reference and yours is great for conversations. What's the conflict? Links.....geeezzzzz |

Precisely bnimble, I fully agree. It really bugged me that he was angry at me for some reason that I couldn’t figure out, many other friends here knew about my worries. I tried and tried for a long time to get him to come around by sending cordial emails off and on (all were ignored). In the meantime I placed his banner on the front page of CT, and then in the footer once it was installed. I did that as a courtesy. I had not talked to him at all about it and it could have been any other poker site on the net but it was his (and PCR's). When the slots were sold, they came down. His was the last to go, and he was none too happy.
The only two emails I ever got from HPT after the "PCR link incident" was one in April complaining about the way I displayed his banner, and the next email was HPT tell me to re-place his banner back in one of the seven spots in the footer. [The 1000 banner displays he gets every day on the chiptalk.net front page isn't enough he says.]
I figure I’ll never know what was really upsetting him. I can't see the piddly link I had with PCR was a big enough deal for him to cut off all relations. Try as I might, he never came around. I finally gave up. |

Chips: 2,570 | | | Wow, that's interesting. Like bnimble I found this site directly from the hpt group buys link... just today!
Glad he still had it there, I'm planning on getting into the ASM buy. Just want to get a feel for this place first before I commit. |

Chips: 2,224 | | | I am reminded of the old yarn, "It is more important to give than to receive."
A true capitalist put a spin on it saying, "Givers get."
I agree with that last one in spades. |

Chips: 2,521 | | | Wow, that is a bummer, Ten. HPT.com was where it all started for me, got my home game up and running and have run a couple multi game tourneys based on advice from that site. Got my table plans from there and found my way to Scott Keen's table building forum also from there. Eventually made my way to TH-P & the 2+2 and finally to here as the Pharoah's GB moved over here. I still use HPT.com and even recommended it strongly to Triple D just a day or to ago to help him get going on a table project. I still use HPT occassionally as it is an excellent resource........just don't get the daily chat, etc that we get over here. One thing I have always admired about Chiptalk and you, Ten, is your......I suppose "professionalism" is the right word. Gives me a high level of confidence and trust in the information that is supplied here. I have the same feeling for HPT but it bums me a little to hear that there has been those kinds of issues.
Oh well, keep fighting the good fight, man. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
