WSOP Copag Group Buy

this was recently posted by somone on the Other Poker Gear forums and it got me to thinking, Hey why not a group buy for Copags!
Of course we need someone to facilitate this buy and to get a reseller wholesale pricing from Copag itself. Im sure there are enough people here in order to get the best prices possible on these cards. Please share you opinions!

Old pricing
Price Per Box
QUANTITY PER UNIT Total Cost
1 Box 6.67 80
2 Box 6.67 160
3 Box 6.36 229
4 Box 6.31 303
5 Box 6.25 375
6 Box 6.19 446
7 Box 6.14 516
8 Box 6.10 586
9 Box 6.06 655
10 Box 6.03 723
15 Box 5.92 1065
20 Box 5.83 1400
30 Box 5.69 2050
50 Box 5.79 3475
100 Box 5.67 6800
ALL ORDERS OVER $800 RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING!!

New pricing
Quantity Price per Unit Price per Box
1-4 Boxes 8.25 99.00
5-9 Boxes 8.10 97.20
10-14 Boxes 7.90 94.80
15-19 Boxes 7.70 92.40
20-24 Boxes 7.50 90.00
25+ Boxes Call for Quote
All orders over $2000 receive free shipping!!

if we do the math then a Box hold 12 setups. setup = 2 decks. so for the old pricing, its $80 for 12 2-deck setups, or 6.67 per setup (3.33 per deck)

well if these cards end up retailing for say 20$ a set up and we can get them for say 12.50 a set up that would be a significant amount of savings IMHO. Also I really don't care who will be supplying us as long as it's the lowest price possible. We are so far running over 100 set-ups and this figure is a Conservative one. I really hope we can make this work out!

I think this we should definitely approach MSPatton about this.....

Well Michael what do you think....would a large group buy through your company be something we could work out??

I think a yes or no is the first place to start....after that we could work out details.

Maybe this is getting more complicated than it needs to be. MSPatton already has a sponsored forum that he could make the offer through, if IF people would follow through on their commitments to finalize their purchases. It doesn't cost that much to ship cards, I don't see a need to increase the cost by having someone re-ship them. Maybe something like Slowplayray's Kings Crown group buy where TR King processed the orders individually and shipped each order individually to members of the group. Except in this case, people who missed the GB could also get in on the offer if it is made as an offer to Chiptalk members.

You are saying exactly what I was getting at.....but I didn't say it....

we commit to buy...he purchases cards......ships them to us.....and everyone is happy at the end....

I guess I have been called out here!

I have put a pencil to this idea and this is what I have come up with.

1. I do not know what my cost will be, but quantity ordered has nothing to do with my cost
2 This concept is assuming USPS Priority Mail on ALL orders only to the U.S.
3. I will set this up on my site as a Free Shipping item with a qty discount
4. For this model below I will be quoting the cost per deck for shipping only

1 deck = $4 per
2 = $3 per
3 = $2.75 per
4= $2.00 per
5 = $1.60 per
6 = $1.25 per
7 = $1.10 per
8 = $1.00 per
9 = $.90 per
10 = $.80 per
11 = $.70 per
12+ = .60 per

Again, I have no idea what cost will be or when they will be available.

I also will not begin to take orders until I have a confirmed shipping date from Copag and the order opportunity will be 7-10 days long.

On Tuesday we will be walking the floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center
at the Global Gaming Expo. We fully expect to meet and talk with Copag, Dal Negro,
Gemaco, USPC, The Blue Chip Company, Chipco, Matsui, and our good friend
Jim from Nevada Jacks who I have been waiting to meet for some time.
It ought to be a good trip!

Michael

That's too bad that we couldn't make this a mutually beneficial venture for you.

While not everyone may be a fan of Blue Chip chips, I for one, would like to see some Blue Chip flame mold blanks available at some decent pricing. It would be a good compromise for those who like to use labels.

I agree here with PocketRocket it would have been much nicer if both parties benefitted more so than this opportunity.

I must say though, thank you Michael for looking into this and offering the chiptalk members here a great deal!!

I think you may have mis-interpreted this statement.

The qty I buy from Copag has no effect on the price I pay.
If I buy 200 or 2000 I pay the same. Was just pointing that out as a note
that there would not be a minimum # needed by the group to get this done.

"That's too bad that we couldn't make this a mutually beneficial venture for you. "

I don't understand where this was relayed in my post. If it was not beneficial to
me I would not have posted

"I agree here with PocketRocket it would have been much nicer if both parties benefitted more so than this opportunity."

What part of this does not benefit which parties enough?

Michael

If the additional number of sets purchased resulted in a better net margin for you as the result of a greater quantity discount. i.e. if you got a price break at say 500 or 1000 Qty.

Sorry I misunderstood....story of my life

it seemed to me as though you were giving us a deal and you were not getting any benefit in return.

Again...sorry if I misunderstood...I deeply appreciate what you do for this site and would like in some small way to return the favor.

*****EDIT*****
I just noticed my typo here.... I meant "on" instead of "than"

"I agree here with PocketRocket it would have been much nicer if both parties benefitted more so than this opportunity."

I am not sure how I screwed this up....I am very grateful that you would offer us this kind of deal....again I just wanted to make it a better deal for you....it seems to me, and I may be mistaken, that giving us free shipping is a deal for us and not for you.
