Chips: 9,087 | | | Custom Blue chips (Samurai Palace) Ok, finally this has come to a point that I can post this here. Some of you may have seen these on THPF.com and I know many of you are interested. Here is the latest and greatest on these chips!
1st, I have been talking to Dave Endy for some time now trying to convince him to make a casino weight chip (i.e. 10g). Finally after hearing no for the umpteenth time I got a virtual "yes". This is to say that the deal hinges on whether we can agree on the final price. I received the last set of sample chips a few days ago and have forwarded them to the retailer sponsoring this purchase. Upon his approval we will start the official group buy -- for what I believe will be the best Bluechip available to date. As you can see in the mockups this is a new mold, not ever seen before anywhere, as well as featuring unique edge spots and a sophisticated design rarely found in home chips; AND OF COURSE the best part, these will likely be manufactured with true casino weight -- 10g (+/- .4g) grams.
You will also have the security of making your purchases through a well known and reputable dealer with various payment methods.
If you are interested in these chips please let me know via this thread or feel free to pm me.
I should have some more definite dates and prices (per chip) by the end of the coming week.

The muted, earthy tones of these chips gove them warmth. Count me in for at least 1000 if you ever get into production. | Don’t worry about that! We will definitely get to production. What everyone should try and keep in mind for this and other large group buys is the investment required for the retailer in general- moreover the mold it self - is tremendous. Anyone with business sense would want to make sure everything is right before moving to the next step. It is in everyone’s best interest to take our time and make sure they are right so there are no disappointments. We have all seen recently how this can happen.
Anyway, Kalimba, I know you weren’t suggesting anything negative; your post just seemed like a good one to respond to and make these points. I am very glad you and so many others are as excited about these chips as much as I am!

While it is a great theme, in practical use, won't it be annoying trying to count down/separate pots and quickly get an idea of an opponents stack etc?? That is the very reason casino chips have bright and contrasting colors.
my 2 cents. | You are right to an extent. Casinos don’t typically reuse any color for chips whether its spots or base color for the reason that it makes it easier for the dealer to quickly identify chips. Or to put it simply, it’s a security issue. Casinos have taken an idea to the farthest end of the spectrum to insure simplicity. That doesn’t mean IMHO that in using some of the same colors that the chips are going to now be camouflaged while in a pile. The base color is completely different in each chip and still in a very standard progression i.e. red to green to black etc.. So there really shouldn’t be any issue in my mind. Of course everyone has there own opinion, lucky for me I get to decide what’s good and what’s not in this case.
