Chips: 9,087 | | | Custom Blue chips (Samurai Palace) Ok, finally this has come to a point that I can post this here. Some of you may have seen these on THPF.com and I know many of you are interested. Here is the latest and greatest on these chips!
1st, I have been talking to Dave Endy for some time now trying to convince him to make a casino weight chip (i.e. 10g). Finally after hearing no for the umpteenth time I got a virtual "yes". This is to say that the deal hinges on whether we can agree on the final price. I received the last set of sample chips a few days ago and have forwarded them to the retailer sponsoring this purchase. Upon his approval we will start the official group buy -- for what I believe will be the best Bluechip available to date. As you can see in the mockups this is a new mold, not ever seen before anywhere, as well as featuring unique edge spots and a sophisticated design rarely found in home chips; AND OF COURSE the best part, these will likely be manufactured with true casino weight -- 10g (+/- .4g) grams.
You will also have the security of making your purchases through a well known and reputable dealer with various payment methods.
If you are interested in these chips please let me know via this thread or feel free to pm me.
I should have some more definite dates and prices (per chip) by the end of the coming week.

I don’t completely understand what you're saying as far as "put the real Japanese character on there". The character in the background is the real character for Samurai. As for removing the word "Samurai" from the top, when I tried it left the chip looking very incomplete so I will leave it. | you are misunderstanding what im trying to say. This is the Japanese character/symbol for samurai. | | Sponsored Links | |

It’s the same idea as using different fonts or the difference between your hand writing and mine... its still means the same thing...

Chips: 6 | | | omg those reds, blacks, and green look soooooooooooooo sexy... but i gotta agree with some of the others about the black label looking better without the Samurai on it...
I might be interested in a bunch of these if the price is decent... |

I am very interested in this group buy. If you can convince Dave to do a casino weighted chip, it would push me over the top and I'd likely be in for 1,000 chips.

It sounds like you couldn’t see the character at all? When I look at it I can see it plain as day. I have a flat screen so if I move my head and try and look up at it from the very bottom of the screen it starts to disappear but looking at it from any normal position it’s absolutely clear. I think for anyone who is really interested they should print some of these images with a decent color printer and even more accurate would be to print the jpegs onto photo paper. I am going to print them myself and then take photographs of them to be posted here. Hopefully this will help. Now that I figured this out I don’t think I’m going to make any changes until I think everyone is clear on exactly what they really look like. I know some of this my sound a little weird but when I look at the images from work there is a quite a difference - not to the extent you are saying - but allot different none the less so those are my thoughts.
As for the project it self - I spoke with Dave last night and among other things he said the mold will take 5-6 weeks once they start. I am working out some things with the retailer so thanks for everyone's patience. Look at it like this; each day that goes by, someone else sees them and the more people who buy them, the cheaper they could potentially be for you.

Chips: 594 | | | Nice looking inlay and theme. I don't know if it's my monitor, but to me, the muted color tones really wash together. Especially the $25 and $100 chips.
While it is a great theme, in practical use, won't it be annoying trying to count down/separate pots and quickly get an idea of an opponents stack etc?? That is the very reason casino chips have bright and contrasting colors.
my 2 cents. |

Chips: 385 | | | Personally, I hope this buy takes a while to get off the ground because I am participating in the ASM buy, and would not be able to buy these (unless they are ridiculously cheap) for a few months at least.
As for the character being to dark, I think it might just be slightly too dark. Just a shade lighter and I think it would stand out more, but not overpower the design. |

my 2 cents. | I think the muted colors are what gives this set some of its appeal. I also believe that casino chips are bright and have contrasting colors because EVERYTHING in a casino is bright and has contrasting colors. Some would say that most casinos are gaudy to that point.
The muted, earthy tones of these chips gove them warmth. Count me in for at least 1000 if you ever get into production. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
