Chips: 9,087 | | | Custom Blue chips (Samurai Palace) Ok, finally this has come to a point that I can post this here. Some of you may have seen these on THPF.com and I know many of you are interested. Here is the latest and greatest on these chips!
1st, I have been talking to Dave Endy for some time now trying to convince him to make a casino weight chip (i.e. 10g). Finally after hearing no for the umpteenth time I got a virtual "yes". This is to say that the deal hinges on whether we can agree on the final price. I received the last set of sample chips a few days ago and have forwarded them to the retailer sponsoring this purchase. Upon his approval we will start the official group buy -- for what I believe will be the best Bluechip available to date. As you can see in the mockups this is a new mold, not ever seen before anywhere, as well as featuring unique edge spots and a sophisticated design rarely found in home chips; AND OF COURSE the best part, these will likely be manufactured with true casino weight -- 10g (+/- .4g) grams.
You will also have the security of making your purchases through a well known and reputable dealer with various payment methods.
If you are interested in these chips please let me know via this thread or feel free to pm me.
I should have some more definite dates and prices (per chip) by the end of the coming week.

Chips: 164 | | | I love the design and color choices. I think the set does have a sense of cohesiveness and an understated elegance to them. The edge spots mesh well. I will be keeping a close eye on this buy, as I have to pass on the ASM group buy. |

One caution - I am currently maxed out on chips so I am commenting on chips I almost certainly will not buy (except maybe a sample set).

L | I like the last image of the back, without the word Samurai. |

Chips: 4 | | Wow, I am definitely keeping my eye on this thread!
The colors, edge spots, and mold are 12 (on a scale of 1-10).
However, I agree with others in that something is off in regards to the inlay.
I like having #1 on both sides. #2 is too messy and unbalanced, while #3 is too empty.
I think it would be a mistake to change the font on #1 (as some have suggested). You stated earlier that a centered denomination detracted from the geisha. Making the font larger would do exactly the same. You don't have much freedom because you are featuring such a dominant image on a monochrome layout. IMHO you did a very nice job with the inlay you already have displayed for #1.
If you are going to use #3, I prefer having the bare kanji character in white (no denomination, no fade on the kanji).
As far as the group buy is concerned, I am very, very interested. |

| I agree whole-heartedly! I'm also very interested in this group-buy, but the black inlay doesn't work for me. The white/geisha is beautiful (don't change it), and I would like to have that on both sides.
Except for the black inlay this must be the best design I've seen. Fantastic mold! |

Chips: 9,087 | | | Thank you for all the continued interest and suggestions. I am listening and will make some adjustments. Ultimately I am designing these chips to satisfy myself and consequently will not stray too far from what you have all already seen but in the interest of group buy I am very willing to make minor adjustments. There is still some time before I will have to make the inlay final so never fear.
BTW, if you are interested in these chips or are inclined to support me in this any thing anyone can do to help spread the word/advertise and draw attention to these chips is appreciated! Thanks to you all...

Chips: 1,203 | | | A quick thought about the inlays - honestly, I think they look great and would not change anything. For those who don't like the black inlay, think about how cool the yin and yang of the black and white contrast would look with a big pile o these on a table. Really, I think that would truly be very cool. I like the contrast of the two. |

Perhaps #3 would work with the same text along the edge as in #1, but with white text obviously. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
