Custom Blue chips (Samurai Palace)

Ok, finally this has come to a point that I can post this here. Some of you may have seen these on THPF.com and I know many of you are interested. Here is the latest and greatest on these chips!

1st, I have been talking to Dave Endy for some time now trying to convince him to make a casino weight chip (i.e. 10g). Finally after hearing no for the umpteenth time I got a virtual "yes". This is to say that the deal hinges on whether we can agree on the final price. I received the last set of sample chips a few days ago and have forwarded them to the retailer sponsoring this purchase. Upon his approval we will start the official group buy -- for what I believe will be the best Bluechip available to date. As you can see in the mockups this is a new mold, not ever seen before anywhere, as well as featuring unique edge spots and a sophisticated design rarely found in home chips; AND OF COURSE the best part, these will likely be manufactured with true casino weight -- 10g (+/- .4g) grams.

You will also have the security of making your purchases through a well known and reputable dealer with various payment methods.

If you are interested in these chips please let me know via this thread or feel free to pm me.

I should have some more definite dates and prices (per chip) by the end of the coming week.

are these 7 chips with different labels on each side or 14 different chips?

also, I would be interested if only the japanese character was used on the black label...otherwise they look awesome!

Is the inlay final? To me, the text is WAY too small and the image is just not quite print ready.

Yeah I feel the same way. If I were to get in on this buy I like to have just the right side graphic in the pic on both sides of the chip. It looks very classy and much better in my opionion than the other graphic. I also agree with what someone said about removing "Samurai" and leaving the symbol instead since Samurai is already used in the casino name.

Yes, this is a custom mold BC is making for us.

I don’t completely understand what you're saying as far as "put the real Japanese character on there". The character in the background is the real character for Samurai. As for removing the word "Samurai" from the top, when I tried it left the chip looking very incomplete so I will leave it.

I don’t agree with you about the size of the font. But you’re not the first person to say this so I'm listening. Here is one of the chips at actual size to give a better perspective. I'm wondering why you think it’s too small. Is it because you think it leaves too much empty space or is it because you think it will be unreadable. I have looked at a lot of actual casino chips and there are many with fonts this size and even slightly smaller on a few.
Now on the other hand you’re right in regards to the denomination because typically (not always) the denom is very large and centered on a chip for the simple and practical reason that the dealer in a casino needs to be able to identify a chips denomination quickly and easily.

At one time I did have the denomination centered but after getting feedback on it people felt it detracted too much from the geisha and thought it should be moved to the side.

As I mentioned before I think the last chip with only the character looks too plain and appears incomplete.

Someone also asked about the black inlay being on both sides -- this is not an option I am considering.

These are 7 chips with front and black inlays.

Well, to be honest, after looking at the black inlay with only the character and denomination on it, I think it does look better. It’s something I will have to think about obviously. Thank you to everyone for your comments!

I see what you’re saying but I chose these colors because I wanted the chips to really feel that they belong together and have cohesiveness.
