Trademarks/Pharaohs 'Thickness' issues

any one concerned that our precious Pharoahs will have the same chip thickness differences that the Trademarks seem to be experiencing?
seems a quality product like Paulson wouldnt have these apparent QC issues, and im slightly concerned that stacks of Pharoahs wont line up.
anyone feel my pain?

From the green and red stack picture it looks like one of the green chips is a little off. You can see a space between the 4th and 5th chip.

The funny thing is, I seem to recall a thread (possibly on the other forum) that dealt with Blue Chip Nevada Jacks thickness issues, and the greens were also the worst off. I wonder if there is some issue specific to green "clay" material that isn't easily remediated?

Hmm. Let me see if I got this logic straight. Clay chips (Blue chips, NJs and Paulson's) don't stack evenly. My very expensive dice chips (bought in 2003) don't stack evenly. Therefore, my dice chips are clay after all! Damn, I did get a good deal, $215 for 650 clay chips!

Tell us! Tell us!...
BEDEVERE:
Tell me. What do you do with witches?
CROWD:
Burn! Burn them up! Burn!...
BEDEVERE:
And what do you burn apart from witches?
VILLAGER #1:
More witches!
VILLAGER #3:
Shh!
VILLAGER #2:
Wood!
BEDEVERE:
So, why do witches burn?
[pause]
VILLAGER #3:
B--... 'cause they're made of... wood?
BEDEVERE:
Good! Heh heh.
BEDEVERE:
So, how do we tell whether she is made of wood?
VILLAGER #1:
Build a bridge out of her.
BEDEVERE:
Ah, but can you not also make bridges out of stone?
RANDOM:
Oh, yeah. True. Uhh...
BEDEVERE:
Does wood sink in water?
VILLAGER #2:
No, it floats! It floats!
BEDEVERE:
What also floats in water?
VILLAGER #1:
Bread!
VILLAGER #2:
Apples!
VILLAGER #3:
Uh, very small rocks!
ARTHUR:
A duck!
CROWD:
Oooh.
BEDEVERE:
Exactly. So, logically...
VILLAGER #1:
If... she... weighs... the same as a duck,... she's made of wood.
BEDEVERE:
And therefore?
VILLAGER #2:
A witch!

Well i stacked the chips 100 high, all denoms and the results are as follows

1. the thinnest chip is the RED it is 1 full chip lower than the Blue Green White and Purple 1/2 chip lower than the Yellow and Black

2. The Blue White Green and Purple are all the same thickness

3. Black and Yellow are the same

Stacked 50 high the yellow and black are slightly shorter than the blue green purple and white, its minor but noticable. The red anre 1/2 lower than the blue green white and purple and 1/3 lower than the black and yellow.

Stacks of 25 all chips are even except the red again but its only about 1/8
chip shorter, barley noticeable!

stacked 20 high all chips are equal, at least you cant tell unless your staring at them with a magnifying glass

So in closing if you idiotic and play with stacks of 100 then the stacking will be an issue.

Stcks of 50 are more reasonable and discriminating players will notice the difference.

I for one never stack my chips higher than 20 or 25 so I wont have as much of an issue as some otheres might.

I have no pictures to back up my statements, but i didnt just spend a half hour stacking and messuring for nothing.

That's good to hear. I usually don't stack higher than 20 either. Whenever someone starts stacking chips that high at my game, someone else at the table accidentally on purpose just ends up knocking them over anyway!

While everyone is stacking their chips, could you also measure your shortest and tallest stacks of 20, in mm if possible? I'm making wooden chip trays and I want to be sure that 20 chips, and no more, will fit. This issue doesn't sound like it will affect being able to do that...I hope. I plan to make the slots 2 5/8" (66.675mm). I'm a little afraid that's too tight for the taller stacks, but I want it as tight as possible. TIA
