Chips: 94 | | | Elements Set Group Buy - Withdrawn. The artist has affirmed that his work can not be used in a group buy - so I have withdrawn this group buy. Sorry everyone, but thanks for your input.
Guess I go back to the denoms again (since I was the only one who liked them).
The price of poker (chips) has just gone up...
If this does not work out - I will likely scrap the ambigrams and start over - but I really don't want to do that..

Will post tonight when I have time to clean them up (last night was very rough - and I left that one on my home comp). |

Chips: 33 | | .72 cents is a whole other deal. I'll buy.
There were four things keeping me out before. Now there are just three things that won't keep me out, but I'd like to have considered (please ). This design is awesome, but if you are taking a wish list, 1) more black on the $100 chip (more traditional blue/white, red, green, black, purple/other.) I see the black in the $100 design, but it is predominantly a white chip. 2) I'd prefer the flexibility of non-denoms. The current printed values make this a tournament only set. When the poker craze is over, I imagine we'll mostly be getting together to play friendly cash games, and this could be a "forever" set. 3) Timing. The timing looks pretty tight with the other promised buys and will affect the number of chips I'm able to purchase. I could use a few extra weeks after the pharoes are delivered. Take your tiiiimmmmme. |

Chips: 94 | | | hmmm .72 is probably not realistic at this point -given the feedback so far - but .80 would seem within reach (remember, though, that art fees/etc are additional to that).
Non-Denoms are still an option if people REALLY want them..Thats how I had them before - and several folks asked for denoms instead. Feedback was that the larger symbols in the center were redundant. Also tried enlarging the center text - but that didn't look right either.
As far as cash games go - I just use a conversion factor whenever I play - but the folks I play with tend to do tourneys all the time now anyway. We've been doing holdem for 5+ years now (granted on-and-off). But that is personal preference...
The difficulty with the $100 chip is that it is black - but also air (which is white). I was planning on making the edge roll mainly black for that one - which would accentuate that its the Black chip. Also, being consistent with the color patterns of the other chips, AND for legibility, the black needed to be the outline color instead of gold.
That said, I could mock one up that has the center black and the border white, and see what you think.. |

Chips: 94 | | Missed the change of font on the black center chip (aka chip #2) but I think that one would clash mightily with the other chips anyway.
Chip 3 is the current look, which I personally still think is best, but I could be swayed to go with #1. One thing to consider - this chip is actually more a gold chip than a white chip (given the gold outer border). But I was planning on using a predominately black border which would highlight that its the black chip. Also, the border of the text almost has to be black, as the gold just made it look blurry. The white center was meant to go thematically with air, and gold and black mesh well color wise (I used gray instead once, and it did NOT have the same appeal). |

Chips: 2,121 | | Keep chip #3 and do the emphasis on the border/rolling edge. Should be fine! |

Chips: 94 | | OK - here is a first draft of edges...lots of fun here...this one is a consistent number of edge spots, primarily as the ones I have seen with differing edge spot counts, do so consistent with the edge of the chip (or there are no edge sports on rim of chip at all).

Chips: 17 | | | These are pretty cool. I actually just finished reading Angels & Demons a week ago. I was in the process of thinking up images for my own chipset and my sister had suggested earth, air, fire and water. Looks like you've got a pretty cool set going. |

I like this $100 Chip ( I would definetly be cool with non denoms for the set) [/img] |

Comments, questions, posers? | Those look incredidible... but I don't think Chipco will go for it. I wish you luck though...
I tried to get heiroglyphics on the rolling edges of my Wgyptians but they said no. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
