Chips: 242 | | | Pharaoh's Club & Casino members... ...who's who & what's what???
Now that we're "all-in" and waiting for delivery. I figured we could kill a little time by posting up how many chips each of us bought, in what denom/non-denom configurations, how we plan to store/transport them, and maybe even a paragraph on the games they will be used in. I know it's basically a recap of the last few months, but this way we can see the culmination all here in one place. I'll go first.
The 2000 chip set I ordered through Ten breaks down as follows:
200 Blue NCV
200 White $1
500 Red $5
500 Green $25
350 Black $100
200 Purple $500
50 Orange $1000
I am also getting 5 of each as extras/spares through Ledavatar.
I initially wanted a NCV chip to act as $.25, $.50, $2, $3, $4, $10, or $20 for any cash game that may ever come up..... AND act as my highest tournament chip($1000, etc). But, I figured since I boosted my order to 2000 chips I just couldn't see myself not getting any Orange $1000's.
So, this set will allow up to 50 players at T1500 with 50 rebuys and coloring up to $500 & $1000 chips for the end of a tourney. This breakdown also allows for 50 players at T3000 with no rebuys - and I still have an exact colorup to $500 and $1000 chips. All without using my NCV chip in tourneys unless I want to make it $2500 or something for a bigger starting T-total/rebuys. T1500 seems to be the best structure for our games/players, sometimes with rebuys, 15 minute blinds. There are dozens of poker players in my area that play regularly and 20+ player tourneys happen often.
Even though they will likely never be used in a tourney - I kept my Blue NCV chip count at 200 so I still have a good amount to fit in anywhere for cash games if necessary. Our cash game structure of choice lately has been $.25 - $.50 blinds with a spreadlimit of $.25 - $3.00 on all rounds. So, 200 blue quarters will be plenty.
I was going to get two premium 1000 chip walnut travel cases from Pokerchips.com, but now I'm leaning toward going with two bird-cages and 20 chip racks from Holdempokerchips.com for storage/travel.
Have they shipped yet?

P.S. Ten this would be a great place to post up our final order total!!!

Chips: 104 | | | Our games are usually 5 people, with the occaisional 8, but I couldn't resist getting 1000 of the Pharoahs. Knew it was more than we would use, even on the busiest nights, but what the heck.
We usually play tourney with T1000 or T1500, depending on how long we want to go. Never play cash games, but I wanted to get some NCV's just in case we try it (and also to get a "complete set"). I decided to go with blue, white, and orange NCV's (we never get to see any $1000 chips), and the rest with denominations.
Here's mine:
NCV Blue - 100
NCV White - 100
$5 Red - 300
$25 Green - 250
$100 Black - 100
$500 Purple - 50
NCV Orange - 100
I went a bit heavy on the red $5's, just because everyone likes to have a big stack of chips in front of them during the first part of the game, so I usually give out 40 of the $5 chips at the start. Sometimes coloring up so many reds is tedious, but it's a friendly game, and we all play mainly for the fun of it (never more than $20 buy-in).
Thought about getting a couple of the 500 capacity Mahogany cases, but have probably decided just to go with another birdcage. It's what I currently use with my 650 Chipco Rounders, and I really like how easy it is to count out 20 chips quickly. Hopefully the Pharaohs will fit into the plastic racks nicely.
As I'm sure everyone else is, I am eagerly awaiting delivery!!!

Chips: 177 | | | Only 400 for me. That is really all I need though because we have an absolute maximum of 10 people.
I ordered:::
300 Black $100's
75 Purple $500's
25 Yellow $1000's
2 Eqyptian plaques (used chiptalk points)
I plan on ordering 5-10 more plaques closer to the release of the set.
We play T10,000 tourney style NLHE with blinds starting at 100/200 and increasing every 15 minutes (200/400, 300/600, 400/800, etc)
We have used this format for a little over a year now and it works great, about 2 hour games, which we play 2 of per night weekly.

Chips: 572 | | | I ordered 1200 total. It breaks down into 2 sets: Ring Game and T5000 Tourney.
For Ring games, I got:
175 $.25 blue
225 $1 white
175 $5 red
25 NCV green (for $25 rebuys)
subtotal: 600
I got the NCV to distinguish them from the tourney greens, though if necessary I can use them in a larger tourney.
This set will support a full table playing .25/.50 or $1/$2.
We play a lot of "Quarter" ring games during tourneys, but on Saturdays I play 1/2 NL with no tourney.
(Is it just my gang, or are tourney players usually afraid of a $100 ring game?)
For the T5000 tourney set I got:
175 $25 green
200 $100 black
100 $500 purple
100 $1000 orange
25 NCV blue (for $5000)
subtotal: 600
The NCV blue will be used as quarters a lot also.
My tourneys usually top out at 18 players, but I can stretch this set to 25 players, although the purples will be a bit scarce. (I'll use the Nexgens for big events anyway)
Total: 1200, which will fit perfectly in my American Oak chest.
I won't have to worry about any $25 greens migrating to the cash game, thanks to the Non Denoms! |

Chips: 202 | | | 2000 chips:
blue NCV 400
$1 - 400
$5 - 400
$25 - 400
$100 - 200
$500 - 100
$1000 - 100
Plan on getting 2 birdcages. |

Chips: 63 | | | I have an order of 700 placed with TenPercenter:
100 Blue NCV
125 White $1
125 Red $5
125 Green $25
125 Black $100
75 Purple $500
25 Orange $1,000
Figured that this setup should be good for both a cash game NCV = 0.25 or 0.50 and enough for a NL Tourney NCV = $10 or $50 |

Chips: 15,974 | | 25 blues
25 whites
200 reds
250 greens
200 blacks
50 purples
25 orange
3 sample sets of all colors
1 sample set of ncvs 775 plus 28 for extras.
the colors i ordered only one stack of are just to have...obviously they won't be of much use to me.
this set is designed to do tournaments up to 20 players at t1000. most of my tournies will be considerably smaller in number, and so will be more like t2000.
i couldn't afford a cash set; besides, i'd prefer to keep the two sets different (thus my desert sands).
storage: i have enough racks for them (for now). have been weighing some choices: possibly the oak chest thing or the mahogany 750. i'm not a big fan of either. |

Chips: 2,190 | | | I ordered a total of 998.
Cash/Ring game setup: ncv - 150 (to use as $.10 piece) $.25 - 178
$1 - 164 $5 - 33
I ordered 10 of each of the other denominations just to have, and will probably use the $25 chip for thsoe that start to roll.
Tourney setup: ncv - 160 ncv - 160 ncv - 150 ncv - 68 ncv - 25
I ordered 10 each of the other denominations to round out the set.
Again, total 998 - the ncv chips are double-duty. |

Chips: 552 | | | My order's in along with the mini group buy.
550 piece set
200 $5
200 $25
100 $100
25 $500
25 $1000
... and 20 extra pieces of each of the 14 designs (yes I know it's 280 samples). I'll probably give some 14 piece sets to friends as collectibles. If I have any extras I'll probably sell them later on the board. I have a feeling that when the chips arrive, there will be quite a few "oh man I should have ordered some samples now they're 1.25 each," "dammit I found out I'm a chip junkie 2 months too late," and "I've been a chip collector for 20 years and I just discovered online forums" groans. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
