...who's who & what's what???

Now that we're "all-in" and waiting for delivery. I figured we could kill a little time by posting up how many chips each of us bought, in what denom/non-denom configurations, how we plan to store/transport them, and maybe even a paragraph on the games they will be used in. I know it's basically a recap of the last few months, but this way we can see the culmination all here in one place. I'll go first.

The 2000 chip set I ordered through Ten breaks down as follows:

200 Blue NCV
200 White $1
500 Red $5
500 Green $25
350 Black $100
200 Purple $500
50 Orange $1000

I am also getting 5 of each as extras/spares through Ledavatar.

I initially wanted a NCV chip to act as $.25, $.50, $2, $3, $4, $10, or $20 for any cash game that may ever come up..... AND act as my highest tournament chip($1000, etc). But, I figured since I boosted my order to 2000 chips I just couldn't see myself not getting any Orange $1000's.

So, this set will allow up to 50 players at T1500 with 50 rebuys and coloring up to $500 & $1000 chips for the end of a tourney. This breakdown also allows for 50 players at T3000 with no rebuys - and I still have an exact colorup to $500 and $1000 chips. All without using my NCV chip in tourneys unless I want to make it $2500 or something for a bigger starting T-total/rebuys. T1500 seems to be the best structure for our games/players, sometimes with rebuys, 15 minute blinds. There are dozens of poker players in my area that play regularly and 20+ player tourneys happen often.

Even though they will likely never be used in a tourney - I kept my Blue NCV chip count at 200 so I still have a good amount to fit in anywhere for cash games if necessary. Our cash game structure of choice lately has been $.25 - $.50 blinds with a spreadlimit of $.25 - $3.00 on all rounds. So, 200 blue quarters will be plenty.

I was going to get two premium 1000 chip walnut travel cases from Pokerchips.com, but now I'm leaning toward going with two bird-cages and 20 chip racks from Holdempokerchips.com for storage/travel.

Have they shipped yet?

P.S. Ten this would be a great place to post up our final order total!!!

.

I ordered 50 more Black, 100 more Purple, and 50 More Orange from HPC - which bumps my total up to 2200 chips. That setup should allow me to host almost any game/tournament.

My new totals are:

200 Blue NCV
200 White $1
500 Red $5
500 Green $25
400 Black $100
300 Purple $500
100 Orange $1000

I would tell you, but I can't remember.

I ordered some from Ten. Then I ordered somemore. Then I modified the first order.

Then I ordered some samples so I could get some low denom chips that I didn't want to order in sets of 25. Then I ordered some more.

Then HPC.com got in the act with the non-denoms, so I got some of these. Weeks went by and I got an email from HPC.com, so I ordered a few more.

All together, I have just under 1000 ordered, and I would have to look up at home to figure out the breakdown. Even then it is so confusing at this point that I will probably just have to take whatever I get and figure it is what I ordered.

I got

100 - $.25
125 - $1
20 - $5
=============
$250 Cash Game Set (Friendly 4-5 Player Game)
We usually play 4-5 players with a $50 buyin. Its $.50/$1, so the blinds are $.25/$.50.

100 - $25
125 - $1
30 - $500
=============
T30,000 Tournament Set (4-6 Players at T5000 Each)

I start everyone with 20 $25, 20 $100, and 5 $500 for a total of 5000 chips. We start the blinds at 25-50, and increase them from there. I usually have a 4-6 player game with regulars, and everyone loves this structure because theres alot of action with so many chips relative to the starting blinds. We raise the blinds often enough that the games only last like 3 hours, sometimes 4.

Thats a total of 500 chips, which will go beautifully with my new 500ct Mahogany finish case. I have my perfect set for up to 6 players, because we never have more than that. If we have more for a tournament, we just start everyone with less chips and slow the structure a bit. I cant wait to get these chips! Im getting rid of all my James Bond Paulsons at $.80/chip (In the Member-To-Member section for those interested)
