...who's who & what's what???

Now that we're "all-in" and waiting for delivery. I figured we could kill a little time by posting up how many chips each of us bought, in what denom/non-denom configurations, how we plan to store/transport them, and maybe even a paragraph on the games they will be used in. I know it's basically a recap of the last few months, but this way we can see the culmination all here in one place. I'll go first.

The 2000 chip set I ordered through Ten breaks down as follows:

200 Blue NCV
200 White $1
500 Red $5
500 Green $25
350 Black $100
200 Purple $500
50 Orange $1000

I am also getting 5 of each as extras/spares through Ledavatar.

I initially wanted a NCV chip to act as $.25, $.50, $2, $3, $4, $10, or $20 for any cash game that may ever come up..... AND act as my highest tournament chip($1000, etc). But, I figured since I boosted my order to 2000 chips I just couldn't see myself not getting any Orange $1000's.

So, this set will allow up to 50 players at T1500 with 50 rebuys and coloring up to $500 & $1000 chips for the end of a tourney. This breakdown also allows for 50 players at T3000 with no rebuys - and I still have an exact colorup to $500 and $1000 chips. All without using my NCV chip in tourneys unless I want to make it $2500 or something for a bigger starting T-total/rebuys. T1500 seems to be the best structure for our games/players, sometimes with rebuys, 15 minute blinds. There are dozens of poker players in my area that play regularly and 20+ player tourneys happen often.

Even though they will likely never be used in a tourney - I kept my Blue NCV chip count at 200 so I still have a good amount to fit in anywhere for cash games if necessary. Our cash game structure of choice lately has been $.25 - $.50 blinds with a spreadlimit of $.25 - $3.00 on all rounds. So, 200 blue quarters will be plenty.

I was going to get two premium 1000 chip walnut travel cases from Pokerchips.com, but now I'm leaning toward going with two bird-cages and 20 chip racks from Holdempokerchips.com for storage/travel.

Have they shipped yet?

-TripKings

P.S. Ten this would be a great place to post up our final order total!!!

bought 500 in the group buy and just now purchased another 500 from Apache.
i think the price was around .92 which is suits me just fine!
my set of 1000 consists of the following:
400-$25
300-$100
200-$500
100-$1000
I reached this configuration with a TON of help from fellow chiptalk members.
(namely TripKings)
Thx to all..stoked to be a part of the group buy and love being a member of Chiptalk.

Stumbled across these "Pharaoh Kem Cards" on Rochesster Chess Center http://store1.yimg.com/I/chess4u_1848_9364715

Thought I post this for all those in the Pharaoh GB that may be interested. I'm probably gonna order a set just to stay with the overall theme...

Although it will be tough for me to put my Arrow bridge RI away.....

By the way these are Bridge SI

I've ordered through here several times, they don't overcharge on shipping and is generally to your door within a few business days.

I'm sorry I found this board so late

The Pharoah chips are really nice! I'm sorry I didn't find this board sooner so I could go in on them. If anybody that ordered them might want to sell an example of each of the chips, drop me an e-mail.

FYI, you will still be able to purchase Pharaoh's chips from the online vendors HoldemPokerChips.com and apachepokerchips.com. The price will be somewhat higher, though I don't think anyone in the group-buy will be parting with them for cheap either.

I ordered only 600 chips...I will run T10000, max of 10 players, 100SB/200BB to start

I got all NCVs

250 black (assigned value - $100)
200 purple ($500)
100 yellow ($1000)
50 blue ($5000)

I will give out 25 blacks and 15 purples...this allows 50 purples to chip up the 250 blacks in play, and 100 yellows to chip up all the purples...I like just having $1000 as the lowest denom when it gets down to heads up or 3way...the 50 blue chips are for rebuys and add-ons

I chose all NCVs instead of black,purple,yellow,plaques because this allows me to have T20000 or T25000 tourneys by changing, say, the yellows to 2000 and the blues to 10000...

can't wait...

I got the perfect 500 chip set for a 10 player T1000 or T1500 tourney

200 x $5 chips = 20 pp
175 x $25 chips = 16pp
100 x $100 chips = 5pp
25 x $500 chips = 1pp (for T1500 tourneys only)

All of my 500 chip sets use this breakdown and it works beautifuly. The only thing that I don't like about it is that I'm only getting four different chips from the set. From experience, however, using $1 chips in a T1000 or above tourney just turns out to be a hassle in the later stages of the tourney. The blinds usuallystart at 5/10 anyway. 1/2 would be too low so that eliminates the need for the .25 and $1 chips. Unless your buying for cash games. The $1000 for my uses is also useless. I would only need those if I were to host larger tourneys with more than 10 people to color up. If I'm like the majority of people who host a tourney for friends/family and keep it to ten or less this 500 chip breakdown is the best possible in my opinion. If you host larger tournaments just double these numbers for every 10 people.

my NCV set

Blue = 250
White = 325
Red = 625
Green = 625
Black = 425
Purple = 225
Orange = 225

Total = 2700 chips

I am waiting with bated breath.

One co-conspirator has also ordered a complimentary set of 1300 NCV's
so we are rollin in 4k NCV's for our 40 seat tourneys.

no oil planned (yet)
