Chips: 242 | | | Pharaoh's Club & Casino members... ...who's who & what's what???
Now that we're "all-in" and waiting for delivery. I figured we could kill a little time by posting up how many chips each of us bought, in what denom/non-denom configurations, how we plan to store/transport them, and maybe even a paragraph on the games they will be used in. I know it's basically a recap of the last few months, but this way we can see the culmination all here in one place. I'll go first.
The 2000 chip set I ordered through Ten breaks down as follows:
200 Blue NCV
200 White $1
500 Red $5
500 Green $25
350 Black $100
200 Purple $500
50 Orange $1000
I am also getting 5 of each as extras/spares through Ledavatar.
I initially wanted a NCV chip to act as $.25, $.50, $2, $3, $4, $10, or $20 for any cash game that may ever come up..... AND act as my highest tournament chip($1000, etc). But, I figured since I boosted my order to 2000 chips I just couldn't see myself not getting any Orange $1000's.
So, this set will allow up to 50 players at T1500 with 50 rebuys and coloring up to $500 & $1000 chips for the end of a tourney. This breakdown also allows for 50 players at T3000 with no rebuys - and I still have an exact colorup to $500 and $1000 chips. All without using my NCV chip in tourneys unless I want to make it $2500 or something for a bigger starting T-total/rebuys. T1500 seems to be the best structure for our games/players, sometimes with rebuys, 15 minute blinds. There are dozens of poker players in my area that play regularly and 20+ player tourneys happen often.
Even though they will likely never be used in a tourney - I kept my Blue NCV chip count at 200 so I still have a good amount to fit in anywhere for cash games if necessary. Our cash game structure of choice lately has been $.25 - $.50 blinds with a spreadlimit of $.25 - $3.00 on all rounds. So, 200 blue quarters will be plenty.
I was going to get two premium 1000 chip walnut travel cases from Pokerchips.com, but now I'm leaning toward going with two bird-cages and 20 chip racks from Holdempokerchips.com for storage/travel.
Have they shipped yet?

P.S. Ten this would be a great place to post up our final order total!!!

Chips: 810 | | | Ater thinking about it some more, I think this set will play even better:
NCV blue - 200
white - 150
red - 200
green - 175
Goals were:
a) Support NL cash games for 10 players, with BB from $.50 to $2 and buyins of 100BB.
b) Support T1500 Tourney for 10 players
c) Use chips at face value (except for the Blue, of course)
d) 725 chips, max
thanks to capt lego for great breakdown |

Chips: 71 | | | I have a quick question about cash games but I didn't want to start a whole new thread so here goes
I have a few different groups of friends who all have different spending limits when it comes to Poker so sometimes the buyin for are tournaments is tiny (as low as 5$). Now that I have a cash game set I was wondering what the blinds should be for an 8 player game with $5, $10, $20 buyin |

Chips: 29,466 | | | I have a large set of Egyptians, so I ordered this Pharaohs set just as an auxiliary set. I wanted it to be a flexible set for 4 to 6 players.
150 Blue NCV
150 White $1
150 Red $5
150 Green $25
50 Black $100
25 Purple $500
25 Orange $1000
Total: 700 chips
I bought a aluminum 700 chip case, but it's a really crappy case so I'll be looking to upgrade that.

Chips: 554 | | | My chips After getting advice from many many forum member, I bought a NCV set for cash games consisting of:
500 white
350 red
100 blue
50 black
That way I can use them for whatever denoms we choose to play that night. I have a feeling I'll end up adding on some more from HPC later.
How will I store my chips??
It will be about 3 weeks from now.....But I will post pics of my Custom Pharaoh Case. |

Now that I have a cash game set I was wondering what the blinds should be for an 8 player game with $5, $10, $20 buyin | I prefer to buyin 100x BB so heres my suggestion
$5 buyin-5c/10c
$10 buyin-5c/10c
$20 buyin-10c/20c
you can also buyin for 50x BB
$10 buyin-10c/20c
$25-25c/50c |

OK, my set: very small compared to some of you guys. Only 500 in total, all denoms, designed for cash games and the occasional tournament.
75 white
150 red
125 green
100 black
25 purple
25 orange (not needed, I know, but they look nice)
Those numbers may look a bit odd but it's all based on experience of which chips actually get used in what proportions from my cheap dice set. Whites are really just for the blinds with us, so I cut down there. Reds and greens are the mainstay. Purples and oranges are just for fun or tournaments really.
Cash games at my house aren't as big as the above chip list implies. Actually I found the whole denoms -- no denoms debate interesting, as I live in the UK and so never expected to use the chips at their actual stated $US values. With a really friendly game for people with no experience, we'll just set it at a £2 buy-in and have the white $1 chip set equal to $0.01. Then people get a 200 "dollar" stack and play NL with 1/2 blinds.
Or if it's a bigger game, we'll say that $1 = £0.10, to give £20 buy-ins, etc. |

Chips: 102 | | | My set is also only 500pcs.
Red $5 - 300; used as $.05
Green $25 - 175; used as $.25
Black $100 - 25; used as $1.00
This works out great for the $10 dealers choice games we play. When we have enough people for two tables, one is usually a hold-em tourney for a $10 or $20 buy in and everyone gets 50 chips. Each chip is worth the same and the one who ends up with all of the chips gets all of the money. I plan on ordering an extra couple hundred in the future but right now it's just not in the cards. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
