Chips: 242 | | | Pharaoh's Club & Casino members... ...who's who & what's what???
Now that we're "all-in" and waiting for delivery. I figured we could kill a little time by posting up how many chips each of us bought, in what denom/non-denom configurations, how we plan to store/transport them, and maybe even a paragraph on the games they will be used in. I know it's basically a recap of the last few months, but this way we can see the culmination all here in one place. I'll go first.
The 2000 chip set I ordered through Ten breaks down as follows:
200 Blue NCV
200 White $1
500 Red $5
500 Green $25
350 Black $100
200 Purple $500
50 Orange $1000
I am also getting 5 of each as extras/spares through Ledavatar.
I initially wanted a NCV chip to act as $.25, $.50, $2, $3, $4, $10, or $20 for any cash game that may ever come up..... AND act as my highest tournament chip($1000, etc). But, I figured since I boosted my order to 2000 chips I just couldn't see myself not getting any Orange $1000's.
So, this set will allow up to 50 players at T1500 with 50 rebuys and coloring up to $500 & $1000 chips for the end of a tourney. This breakdown also allows for 50 players at T3000 with no rebuys - and I still have an exact colorup to $500 and $1000 chips. All without using my NCV chip in tourneys unless I want to make it $2500 or something for a bigger starting T-total/rebuys. T1500 seems to be the best structure for our games/players, sometimes with rebuys, 15 minute blinds. There are dozens of poker players in my area that play regularly and 20+ player tourneys happen often.
Even though they will likely never be used in a tourney - I kept my Blue NCV chip count at 200 so I still have a good amount to fit in anywhere for cash games if necessary. Our cash game structure of choice lately has been $.25 - $.50 blinds with a spreadlimit of $.25 - $3.00 on all rounds. So, 200 blue quarters will be plenty.
I was going to get two premium 1000 chip walnut travel cases from Pokerchips.com, but now I'm leaning toward going with two bird-cages and 20 chip racks from Holdempokerchips.com for storage/travel.
Have they shipped yet?
-TripKings
P.S. Ten this would be a great place to post up our final order total!!!

Chips: 1,455 | | | my breakdown is something like diss.... I bought a total of 1700 chips....
1350 denomination....
350 NCV's....
20 Egyptian Plaques (for my "BIG TIMERS" game)
I purchased 1 500 piece set for myself with the following amounts:
$5 (red) - 200pcs
$25 (green) - 150pcs
$100 (black) - 100pcs
$500 (purple) - 25pcs
$1000 (orange) - 25pcs
This allows for a T600 [T1,100] Tournament for 20 people (no rebuys, we hate rebuys, lol)...
giving each person:
$5 - 10
$25 - 6
$100 - 4
[$500 - 1]
blinds start at 5/10 and move accordingly
There are 2 300 piece sets with the following amounts:
(1 is for a friend of mine when he moves into his new house as a house warming gift, the other is TBD)
$5 (red) - 100pcs
$25 (green) - 75pcs
$100 (black) - 75pcs
$500 (purple) - 25pcs
$1000 (orange) - 25pcs
This allows for a T600 [T1,100] Tournament for 10 people (no rebuys, we hate rebuys, lol)...
giving each person:
$5 - 10
$25 - 6
$100 - 4
[$500 - 1]
blinds start at 5/10 and move accordingly
The other 250 set is more of a "BIG TIMERS" addition set for when I decide to do the T10,000 tournament games (sometimes we just like the feeling and psychology of playing for large money).
giving each person:
$25 - 8
$100 - 8
$500 - 2
$1000 - 3
$5000 - 1
Blinds start at 25/50 and move accordingly
Then I have the 350 NCV set of 50 of each NCV, this is more of a "collectors item" for myself and if our poker group ever decides to start playing cash games (which i highly doubt we'll do, since we all love the tourny format so much)....
also, 10-20 of these NCV's will be used as our KNOCKOUT CHIP (we always put in an extra $1-$5/person as a knockout fee if someone takes you out, this creates an incentive for more calls when folks go all in, instead of just running away and letting someone steal the pot with an "ALL IN").....
so that's my basic set up, the 1100 chips are for myself the other 600 are for my friend and one that is in limbo on who i'mma give/sell/trade to? (I hope someday i can come across someone with a large set of NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN FANTASY SET that i can barter with, but that's in a perfect world, which i dont live in or have ever seen....LMAO)....
whew that was a long write up....
have the chips come yet?
Anybody have suggestions given my chip breakdown on how i can play cash games?
Oh yea, in my 300 "BIG TIMERS" set, there are 50 $1 (white chips) chips which can act as a 10,000 chip if we have to color up for folks....
thanks for reading,

| Terrific! They'll be broken in and easier to shuffle after that.
Just make sure to oil them up afterwards. |

Chips: 2,046 | | | After much thought on the topic of nvc, i was finally convinced that there was a place for them in my main set. I`m a denom guy all the way and i don`t really go for using 25$ chips as .25˘ chips and so forth.
my break down is as follows
NVC--Blue--300 can be used as 10.00$
NVC--orange--300 can use as .50˘or 2.00$ depending on game.
.25˘--400
1.00$--400
5.00$--300
25.00$--300
100.00$--300
500.00$--200
1000.00$--100
5000.00$---40 Plaque`s to round out the set
had intended to get extras to replace damage or bad chips but since both styles will be offered later, didn`t see the need to do this at this time. I was a little disappointed that both styles would be offered after the group buy, was hoping they would only carry the non-denom chip as a stock item keeping the denom set unique to the group buy, probably would have ordered more, like money in the bank, now the uniqueness of the chip has diminished somewhat so the value of the chip may fall over time---- but i sure hope not, only time will tell! anyways we all got the best price possible. are they here yet, R-they here yet, r-they here yet. better go get some mineral oil,--and start looking at those 2000 chip cases, geeez it`s gonna be a very long wait
P.S. with this amount of chips i should be able to do almost anything! |

Chips: 12,255 | | Maybe if he just oils himself up with baby oil before he gets in the jacuzzi, he could kill 2 birds.

Chips: 502 | | | T5000 tourney set for up to 10 players:
200 $25 = $5k = 20 chips/player
200 $100 =$20k = 20 chips/player
30 $500 =$15k = 3 chips/player
10 $1000 =$10k = 1 chip/player
total = 440 chips = $50k in play (based on 10 players) = 44 chips/player
Remaining chips for color ups
25 $100 = $2.5k
20 $500 = $10k
15 $1000 = $15k
total = 60 chips = $27.5k
Total chips in set = 500 even |
