Just curious why there's no review of these anywhere?
Do they really weigh 9.5g? Seems awfully heavy for ASM.

Re: ASM club cleopatra
Coudn't find anything about the weight, only people they bought a (sample) set can answer this (and Jim ).

Of course, I didn't even notice this thread until a couple weeks ago, so the fact that it's "hidden" so far down here could be part of it. Then again, I may want more of them, so it might be best to keep things quiet. Either way, I couldn't be happier with them. They're a nice change from my Paulson classic set. They feel and sound somewhat different, but not really better or worse than the Paulsons-- just different. If anything, they grip together in a stack better than the Paulsons because their surface seems more textured. They'll do just fine until I figure out just what I want for my custom set-- at least now I know I'll be sure to go with ASM for my customs, as nice as these chips are.

Re: ASM club cleopatra
These chips are great. I only have a sample set but if Jim could remake the $1,000 (he would probably have to use different colors) and add a $5,000 chip I bet he would move a bunch of them.

Re: ASM club cleopatra
bumping this thread...
I still don't quite understand why these chips haven't gotten much attention? I mean they are mint authentic casino chips afterall.
If anybody is interested, I've gotten the owner of the chips (and casino that never opened) Ross Kardwell to drop the price to .79ea.
I'm not ready to pull the trigger but if somebody else is, I"d be happy to coordinate for sample set.

Re: ASM club cleopatra
I'm confused, last I knew these were for sale thru ASM and Cara Gails. How does Kardwell have them now?

I'm not exactly sure but they're listed on the kardwell site for .95ea.
100% Clay Casino Chips: Club Cleopatra 100% Clay Casino Chips are Available in 6 Different Denominations
When i called them to find out what they had in stock, i spoke with owner Ross Kardwell.
Anyways, he agreed to sell a set of 500 to me for .79ea. I can't remember but he either told me or i read it somewhere that he and a partner were trying to open up a casino in Trinidad but couldn't get licensing.
Maybe someone else could chime in with more or correct info.
While the artwork isn't fantastic, the spots are nicely progressed for a cash game and supposedly weigh 9.5grams.
But like i said, I'd be willing to coordinate purchase of set for a sample set. I'm not too interested in ordering a sample set to see if anybody else likes them.

Re: ASM club cleopatra
I never got around to writing a review. They are basically like every other horsehead mold ASM chips as far as weight, feel etc. I love them, used as a tournament set.
What is interesting about the chips is the history. Casino going to open, gets the go ahead form T&T gaming authorities. Chips get built, gaming authority pulls license, casino never opens. 15,000 Chips sit in Portland, ME for 15 years or so, permission granted to sell chips to public.
Of the 15,000 chips, only 100 were the $1000 chips.
On a personal note, one of the first field jobs I did as a service engineer out of school was at a refinery in Trinidad & Tobago in 1992. My wife actually went on the trip with me, so T&T relates to me personally.
I need to get back up to see jimb and write down the whole story.
Matthew

Re: ASM club cleopatra
if i didn't already have too many chips, I'd be all over these.
I still don't understand why they're not all sold.
I mean, when The Chiproom gets ahold of ASM casino chips, they seem to move pretty fast....at least when they're on sale.
But .79 is good price for new mint unused perfect casino chips imo.
