Q: Are you serious?
A: yes.
Q: Who is running this thing?
A: Me, Miandsh2000, and MarkC79. I'll take care of the online piece and order tracking. Miandsh2000 will collect monies, place the order, and handle shipping. MarkC79 will be the grand puba at this point. We'll draw on his RoyalPokerSupply expertise to handle tens of thousands of chips!
Q: Can we confirm hotstampability on this mold?
A: Jim says it will stamp fine. It has one of the largest recess diameters of any standard mold (1 1/16 maybe) and one of the deepest recesses. This takes the overall weight down a touch but makes it great for stamps. Obviously the GB organizers can't be responsible for any guarantee on aftermarket stamps. The worst case scenario is that you get stuck with FDL blanks for 36c each. Worse things have happened to humans.
Q: Who does custom hotstamps?
A: Check with joshuadalton or jsmithjr732. Chiproom has not had good luck stamping ASMs due to cracking issues and will not be able to stamp these chips. He may be able to help with custom dies.
Q: Hey Josh, looks cool. I've already got a hotstamp project in the works though. Tell me about this weighted Day Glo Peach. Is it just heavier, or is there a color change too ?
A: Weighted DG Peach will be a bit darker than regular DG Peach, but I'm going with it because I want the heavier weight. I have no way of knowing how much a "bit" is. I'll try to get more info from Jim. The DG Peach is pretty bright in person, so I think it'll be fine. We shall see.
Q: Haven't seen this asked yet but, would reorders be allowed? If so (I'd guess it's a very big if) would we be able to reorder on our own, as a member of the group buy?
Or would we have to go through the GB organizers?
A: Sure, but not at these prices. You could order solid blanks from ASM at any time and you could add on to a GCR set as well, but again, not at these prices.
Q: Where do I send my money and rights to my first born to?
A: Miandsh2000, but not yet. I'm not sure if he's in the market for babies. Work that out with him.
Q:This better not be part of some sick joke, if it is then I'm falling for it. Firstly I'll ask, will you be able to ship these to Australia? Yes! well that's great.
A: No joke, fo snizzle. Mike WILL ship internationally. See updated OP for details. You're in.
Q:I'm thinking there will be a mix of stamped and blanks in my order, that's going to be OK isn't it?
A: Hellz yeah.
Q: Sweet news. Any idea if PCOL could simply stamp these?
A: PCOL WILL be stamping the GCR chips. Jim has declined to stamp these with stock dies... reason is lower in this text.
Q: OH! also, will it be possible to ship to Canada? how many chips can be put into a flat rate USPS box? thanks to everyone who is making this possible!
A: Yes. prolly 600-800 is a standard, maybe up to 1200 in large. More shipping info later. Your cost will be actual cost.
Q: What is the deadline to place an order?
A: June 21 at the earliest.
Q: So ASM will be stamping the Grand Cardroom stamps? If so, is it possible for individual orders to get custom stamping from ASM?
A: Yes. No.
Q:
- Is there a minimum order quantity per chiptalker?
- Is there international shipping? (there would certainly appear to be a demand)
- Is ASM doing the stamping?
- And if so, can individual orders use ASM's stock hotstamps instead (ie also cash game ones), and what would be the corresponding price?
many thanks
A: Prolly yes, maybe 300? Not sure yet, gotta talk to Mike. If you want less you can add on to someone else who likes you and have them ship to you.
Yes.
Yes.
No.
Q: Are there actual pictures of the blanks yet? Damn I sounded naggy!!
A: No, the mold is not in service for at least another week.
Q: Don't know if this has already been asked-- is the stamp area big enough to accomodate BCC's TR King stamps?
A: This chips has a 1-1/16" recessed diameter. If any chip can accept those stamps, this one can. Who will stamp them for you?
Q: Retro Red, Retro Lavender, Retro Blue are all these non-weighted?
would weighted retro lavender be a possibility for 1000pc order?
or would the color even look right with the brass flakes?
A: All retro colors are NON-WEIGHTED. They have no brass flakes.
Possibly, if it has that kind of support.
Who knows.
Q

on't know whether this has been asked and answered (didn't read all 99 posts), but why does the PCO web site state that this is one of the molds that cannot be hot stamped?
A: JimB confirmed today that these chips should stamp fine. He does not like the idea of using stock dies because the artwork diameter is small compared to the recessed area and he thinks it would look funny. Prolly why he didn't usually stamp this one.
Q: What's up with the DG colors?
A: JimB is offering us weighted versions of any DG color, including Arc Yellow, as long as we reach 1000 of that particular color.
Q: Will the brass flake change the color?
A: Yes, but VERY little. Not enough to send you in another direction.
Q: Are the retro colors weighted?
A: No.
Q: Can we weight the retro colors for this GB?
A: No.
Q: Why the hell not?
A: 'Cuz Jim said no. That pretty much did it for me.
Q: Uh, can I see 'em?
A: Yeah, sure:
Q: Light Blue?
A: weighted, always.
Q: Light Chocolate?
A: Weighted, always.
Q: Hey, why did the chips go back up a penny?
A: mounting the die faces cost me $336, not $80 as originally quoted.
Q: How do I get the stamps to show up in the chip factory?
A:
1) Copy this: GCRFULLSET200961902020
2) Go to the chip factory
3) Click on Inlay, Load
4) Paste that number into the "Local or Server Save Name" box
5) Click Save, Get Others Inlay
