Hello everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be handling the group buy for the new PNY inspired dealer buttons and bounty/show 'em chips. This will be my first group buy so I want to make sure I do everything right. In order to do that, I just had a few questions for the group. At the VERY latest, I hope to have the order thread up by Monday (6/9) morning. I still need to get exact prices from Joe at Palm Imports.
Okay first off...
Shipping - Since the biggest orders seem to be something like 10 dealer buttons and around 30 chips, would saranwrap and bubble wrap be appropriate means for packing? I can also get some of those 25 chip tubes from trademarkpoker.com if that would be better. I was thinking of wrapping the dealer buttons together in saranwrap and then a bunch of bubble wrap and using a bubble mailer. For the chips, I was thinking of wrapping 10 together in the same manner. Bigger orders could be placed in a small box rather than a bubble mailer. Again, just want some advice on what you guys prefer so I can go out and get the mailing supplies.
Paypal fees - Does anyone know off the top of their head the paypal fees associated with domestic/international transactions? I want to say it's 3% and 5% respectively but please correct me if I am wrong.
Additional payment options - I can accept paypal and I would assume that most people will be using this method but should I offer any other forms of payment?
Time frame of order thread - It was suggested to me to have the order thread go for about two weeks and then an additional week for receiving payment. Does this sound about right to you guys?

Sorry for the long message but I just want to make sure I get everything right for everyone with as few bumps in the road as possible. Once I get the preliminary prices from Joe, I will put the order thread up. Like I said, at the VERY latest it will start on monday but obviously would like to get it started sooner.

*your packaging plans so just fine imo.

*If I were you I would accept only paypal as method of payment, much easier and convenient than waiting for personal checks to clear etc.

*I would let the order thread run for one week, I guess two wouldn't be horrible but I think us nuts can figure out just what we want in one weeks time. So perhaps 1 week order 1 week pay, or 2 order 1 pay?

*Are you going to be handling all of the shipping? If so, I would stress that people make payment asap so that you can make as few trips to the p.o. as possible, gas and time aren't going cheap these days.

*Thank you very much for offering to spearhead the ordering process.

Thanks for handling this. I think everthing looks alright as far as time frame, shipping, and paypal fees. I think most people will use paypal, but you should give them an option of using a check or money order. You're gonna do well with your first group buy. I just can't wait to get that Dealer Button!

I'm not part of the this GB, but I thought I'd relay my experience with the STFU/WFT GB I did.
Take advantage of USPS, they will send you priority boxes for free. You may have to order twice depending on how many you need but they are FREE. I had good luck with the following box from USPS. It's the size of a VHS tape and will hold approx 40-50 chips. At 1 or 2 lbs, I think it ships any where in the US for $4.80 ($4.75 online)

You can also create a Address book if you are signed on and print labels and postage from home and not deal with post office clerk.

I agree with JHickle sign up for an account and us the Click-n-Ship system and address book.

As far as the boxes I would think that the SMALL Video Boxes would be the way to go. Order them soon if you go this route for it will take 7-10 business days for them to arrive at your house.

EDIT: I am sending something out today using the Above box thru Click-N-Ship thru the USPS website and it won't give me the option to ship in this size box. It will only allow for USPS Flat Rate Envelopes, Flat Rate Boxes. So what I am thinking is you will be able to Do online shipping right thru the Paypal site.
