Gauging interest: New PNY dealer button

The PNY dealer buttons that were made back in the day are pretty hard (not to mention expensive) to get a hold of these days. Here's the original GB thread http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/group-...-underway.html

I thought about finding out if we could redo those buttons, but I guess it wouldn't be fair to people who have paid a lot to get one. So how about a brand new design? Johnny5 is designing a DB based on a photo. Looks like we'll do three buttons instead of just one!

These will be Palm Import's ceramic buttons (with rolling edges). Current mock-ups:

We will do a bounty chip too! PI's 43mm chips should work well because of their large printable area. Mock-up:

Re: Gauging interest: New PNY dealer button

I have emailed J5 asking for his help to design the DB's.

Have no problem fronting the design fee's to get this started and have given him the basic idea of the GB

Patiently waiting.

We now have 2 designers for this? If the group wants to have J5 do the design thats fine with me. I have asked Fins to do one as well. I dont think we need 2 designers to mock-up DB. Should I retract my question for help from Fins?

Re: Gauging interest: New PNY dealer button

First things first. Let's get organized. This could end up being a very large effort for someone to take on. Lot's of PNY's out there, so I believe this will fly! Can we start by agreeing on some basic ideas/rules/efforts?

1)Who is running this project?
2)Who is our (1) designer to design both "Dealer Buttons" and "Bounty Chips"?
3)Who is our stateside representitive?

Just trying to help.

Hmm.

While I'm sure Fins would do a great job, I think J5 has done PNY stuff before so maybe he has everything set-up and ready to go.

Perhaps you can inform Fins of this along with my apologies.

Hope I did not put my foot in it. It's great to have options anyway because there is no guarantee that either of them have the time or inclination to do this.

Just thinking about the Bounty chips, whilst I'm in for 15 it again depends on the design. Have a a few questions:

Are we going with ceramics or clays?
Can ASM do chips with the Grand inlay?

BCC are out of the question since they would not entertain the exisitng PNY Commemorative GB (Probug thread).

If ASM can do the the Grand inlay on the hourglass mold would be cool. I would prefer to have clay's as opposed to ceramics.

Idea for graphics (NYPD inspired bounty)
