Pussycat a go go hotstamp

Since the original Pussycat a GoGo's were on the Nevada mold, I'm leaning towards having mine hotstamped.

Here's what I am looking at. I'll buy it by myself if needed but I wanted to offer it up in case anyone was interested.

Ask BCC: Why does it take 6-8 months when you promised 4-5 weeks? How come you didn't look at the chips before you sent them out? Why does it take 6+ months for BCC to make good on a bad order after waiting 6-8 months in the first place?

I was looking at the Suicide King HS, but this one is cool too. So many decisions.

Re: Pussycat a go go hotstamp

it's cool, but you will have serious issues stamping that font
this one is better off as an inlay

Details please. I can change it if needed. Which aspects need to be adjusted.

Thanks!

The font is a little to curly in too small of an area... remember that the chip will compress and raise up around the stamp areas. That means that it can possibly distort the font and also makes it harder to scrape. A lot depends on what chip it's being stamped on and who is doing the stamping.

Re: Pussycat a go go hotstamp

That looks awesome. It's too bad you have had the issues you had with a certain company, because your ***** cat theme would look great on a certain set of semicustoms.

What's new ***** cat?

EDIT: LOL at the editing. I guess you can't say *****.

Re: Pussycat a go go hotstamp

Take a look at these from the 21ace site.
I can see how they have some curls close together.

I suppose I could make the text bigger and the cat smaller, like this.

Any better?

Re: Pussycat a go go hotstamp

Something to keep in mind. I assume this image will be used on the Nevada molds? Well the stampable area on those is a 7/8" circle. For you to get an idea of how large this is. What you can do is print your image and cut it out and see if it will fit on the chip. This will give you a better idea of what needs to be done to the image to make it work. Hope this helps.

I think the cat is more important to the stamp. Could you use a slightly simpler font, or is this the same font that's used on the original inlays?

IIRC, SOK said that ASM blanks required a lot more pressure to stamp than BCC chips, causing more raises in the clay. I'm not sure how this compares to the composites like on the 21aces website, but if you look at these, you can see the difference:

Re: Pussycat a go go hotstamp

Actually the ASM chips are much softer than BCCs and don't require that much pressure.

I don't think this issue will affect this design. But if these are used for the Nevada molds I can see the need for Scrapping that type chip interfering with this image. If these were used on say an Hourglass or T-Mold with more of a recess I don't think there would be a problem at all.
