Chips: 123 | | | ASM Black Sands GB Cash Set Feedback **UPDATED W/ NEW MOCK-UPS** Ok, as suggested and asked by many I will be splitting up the threads for cash and tourney sets. This thread will be for the cash set only... Disclaimer:
I want to be clear with this. Post in this thread ONLY if you are purchasing a playable set. Also keep in mind that we dont have a ton of time to get this done. We have to have money collected and order placed by the end of the month to take advanatge of the 10% off. So more than likely your ideas or suggestions may not make the cut due to time, its nothing personal just something we will have to do to get this done. Now that I have that out of the way. There are tons of ideas floating around about what the chip colors should look like spotted, solid & 1/2 pie. Again to keep it simple these are going to be solids only. If that turns you off sorry.
There is a desire for a non-denom or a micro amount. The best way to handle this is to go with a non-denom. We will need to decide on a body color for that chip.
The $5 & $20 chip colors are having some discussion so we will need to decide on a color for those as well.
The inlay for the most part is going to stay as is. I am talking with Fins about options on this, mainly using the same on the $100 on all the cash chips.
Also Fins is very busy with travel so it maybe a few days before we get mock-ups so please be patient. Also as stated in one of the other threads I want to see something be done for Fins. He is taking his own time to help us with this. He isnt even going to get any of these chips so I would like to do something for him as well.
So let the feedback begin...
THE CHIPS
UPDATE:
Per members feedback here is the direction we are headed... I will leave it open for more feedback till this evening then I will reach out to Fins again to make the nessissary changes... Thanks again to all for your input and feedback!!! These are going to be super sick!!!

That is one of the great design points on this set. |

This is what I am talking about... Using this inlay for all chips just changing the denom... As I see this is giving all the chips more depth and contrast. |

I also think the font needs to be in white, not yellow, on all chips, along with the left and right trees. Or, keep it yellow and don't have a yellow chip.
The location needs to be changed to a location that actually has a black sand beach.
Use edgespots.
All my opinions, so F me, but my $.02 anyway.
As for not enough time... pshaw. Every change I've mentioned could be done in not much time at all, inclusive of collecting money and such. But I'm an optimist. |

All my opinions, so F me, but my $.02 anyway. | Well if memory serves me you were only in for a sample set in one of the other threads.. If this is the case I am sorry... I am not going to get into changing the location adding edge spots and changing font color.
So if this means you are out so be it... Sorry but I am not going to have this GB die due to folks wanting so many changes. I am looking for feedback but we arent totally changing the inlay. This will take way to much time and will kill this GB again. I wont let that happen this time.
Sorry. |

no edgespots so we can keep this on the cheaper side.
also I wouldn't be opposed to seeing different colors on the 5 or 20 but would be happy if kept as is.
maybe a chocolate 100 for the cash set? i dunno. I'm pretty happy as is. |

Chips: 130 | | | Re: ASM Black Sands GB Cash Set Feedback The inlay with 3 different color palm trees is vastly better than the "progression palm trees". I like the idea of the progression palms, but it's not working as well as it should. The way things are now, many people would never use the black chip with the most beautiful inlay. For chip color progression, why don't we just make it match the inlay?
.25 - DG Pink
1 - Imperial Blue
5 - DG Green
20 - Black
100 - White
I know it's a bit unconventional, but with 3-colored palm tree inlays it would look nothing short of amazing.
Attached is a sample of how the colors would look in real (all taken from the same photograph) and a mock-up with the 3-color-palms inlays.
These changes are free. Why settle for less?
Now if most people are dead-set on using the progression palm inlays, why not use this chip color progression and the progression palms for the colored chips, and 3-color-palms for the black and white chips? Then the inlay progression would at least make sense, which IMO it currently doesn't.

The mockup above is very good evidence of how the set will look more vivid. |

Sorry. | True - in for a sample set as is. Cool. I'd rather have the chip I like than settle for something just to get 10% off. Good luck with the group buy. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
