Chips: 38 | | Something I don't understand - Re: Matsui Zen's I'm fairly new to the forums if you're measuring in days, but in hours, that's another story (I have the sickness you all speak of).
My question is, the Matsui Zen chips seem to be a favorite of everybody, I don't understand why it couldn't be opened up again for another round? I've seen so many people who have said "I missed out on those" or "how can I get some of those", why not please the masses?
Someone please enlighten me on how this works, and why my idea can/can't work... | | Sponsored Links | |

But if there's a new group buy, I'M IN |

But if there's a new group buy, I'M IN | I know, but I'm saying "WHY" is it that only the original members can get in on the rebuy? Is it like a cult following that you have to be cool to get in? Isn't this supposed to be a friendly place where if EVERYBODY wants to run another buy of the Matsui chips, then why can't it be done? I don't know how the cost sharing would be worked out, but it could be done pretty easily...
For instance, since the initial people shared the design costs, each of the new rebuy people would have to pay a little premium on their order. That money could then go to buying a few extra chips/plaques for the original people, to make up for the fact that they originally shared the design cost.. Am I way off here? |

Since they were only X amount made, it's fair to say that they will hold their value, if not accrue some interest, over time. With that said, I'm against opening this up for a second round...me thinks it will tarnish both the value and reputation of the Zens.

The group pooled resources together to get a one of a kind chip that one individual could not really purchase on their own (a la ASM, BCC, Chipco, etc). and that was the goal to have a one of a kind chip.
Other groupbuys, such as the Pharaohs have resulted in commercial chips that anyone can get.
The idea of the smaller more exclusive GBs is precisely to avoid that. |

To my knowledge, the groupbuy was open to everyone here at the time.
So I don't see it as selfish at all.
Let say you missed the boat on the Google IPO, should you be able to buy Google Stock at the IPO price still? Would you call those that bought at the original price to be selfish? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
