UPDATE: Modiano Plastic Cases 1.69

hey all... i am supposed to hear back from Cara Gails Wed/Thurs about a bulk pricing on the Modiano plastic card cases. they assured me they would get me a good price on them (normally $5 plus shipping)....

i'm just polling for interest on them... keep in mind you can keep more than just the Modiano cards in these cases... Modiano plastic cases are also THE nicest ones on the market. (read a review on them here : http://www.homepokertourney.com/playing-card-boxes.htm theyre most of the way down the list)

also if your purchasing Modiano cards from me in the GB running now i am willing to hold your cards until the plastic case GB goes through and ship them both to you at one time. this is completely optional. i dont mind if you want your cards asap and will wait for the plastic case, this would just save a little money in shipping for those of you that can wait. its I'm sure a Group Buy on cases will go well, but its your choice and i dont mind either way.

***********************************************************************************************
I just recieve an email from Cara Gails on their price for the cases.

for 48 cases the cost would be $175 which breaks down to. 3.66 per case... that is without the cardboard sleeve... tthat includes shipping to me. plus shipping from me to you (def. a charge for that)...
Cara Gails said to add .75 for a sleeve... but they only have about 40 left...

to be honest i'm not impressed with this price as TridentCards is still cheaper at standard retail WITH the sleeve... i email CG about the reason for the price difference and i'm waiting for the answer.

I'm also waiting to hear back from Trident Cards who told me they would get me a good price once ther next exchange rate came through from Modiano Direct and they could get me a very nice price.. presumably less than 1.99 with the sleeve...

let me know what you all think... at this point i would rather wait ad see what Trident has to say about their costs... although it may be a day or two until i hear back from them as they can tell me until Modiano contacts them....
*************************************************************************************************
UPDATE 2: just hear back from CG they said the difference in price was that Trident would charge exact shipping prices on the cases where as they are included in the price they gave me... so really without knowing the shipping costs from trident then Cara may be a little cheaper in reality...

thinking on it again if we did flate rate envelopes that would be a little under 12 bucks for two cases mailed flat rate envelope... for people ordering more than 2 i could do 8.10 flat rate shipping boxes and fit probably up to 12...

let me know what you all think.

**********************************************************************************************
UPDATE: Trident Cards just emailed me and informed me that their cost would be 1.69 for a minimum order of 60 cases with Tiered pricing. i gave them my adress and am waiting to hear back on a shipping estimate for 100 cases. does that price sound more reasonable to everybody?

Re: Modiano Plastic Card Case Group Buy!

If price is right, I'd be in for 8-10.
Better than $1.99?

Re: Modiano Plastic Card Case Group Buy!

I am pretty sure the ones from Trident are the case without the Modiano card board sleeve while the Cara Gails is for both case and sleeve. Believe it or not, the sleeve is nice to have as it helps keep the case closed and does offer a bit of protection from scratching and cracking.

If you can get the cases and sleeves from Cara Gails at a good price, I will buy a couple of them.

Re: Modiano Plastic Card Case Group Buy!

actually cara gails charges an extra buck for the sleeve... that one is 6 to buy plus shipping.

i'll wait until wednesday and then talk to cara gails themselves and we can go from there.

Re: Modiano Plastic Card Case Group Buy!

Sorry. I am a chip dork that just buys too many cards. I just ordered and paid for two more setups of these Modiano cards.

So let me get this straight, Modiano cards are shipped with the plastic tray that slides into a cardboard sleve (which is less than ideal) right? And the Group Buy that you are proposing is for the plastic case that flips open and lifts the cards out for you correct? Does this case also slide into the cardboard sleve and does this case fit Poker sized cards as well?

Thanks,
Couga
