Desert Sands Customs -- Anyone Want to Split A Set?

I am looking at purchasing some low denomination chips to go with my Desert Sands set. I play lots of 7 card stud, and with one of my groups the $.25 is too big of a starting denomination. But, I don't care if someone wants high denominations or low denominations, as long as they want some of the Desert Sands chips in a non-standard denomination/color, we can split a set of 500. I want 200 or 250. So, I'm looking for someone to get 250 or 300 chips. Please PM me if interested.

Re: Desert Sands Customs -- Anyone Want to Split A Set?

GL with this.

I did hear from some people that had to back out for undisclosed reasons after showing interest and also some that contacted me after the order was placed, so there are others out there looking for custom DS chips. Hope they find you. If you look at the timing of my original thread in the $5000 chip group buy, it did take some time from my first post to the point where it was building steam, but once it started moving, it went really quick.

Note : As we found out, the when you have the customs done, they will probably not match the other DS chips of the same color. Our greys and oranges were both a little off. Not saying they were bad, just off. LarryJ posted pics of both of his grey chips and you can see the difference in the greys. In the other post mentioned by MID, you can see the variance on the custom yellows as well. The purple nickels do look very nice though.

Also, not sure if you are familiar with PSO or not, but I found a lot of interest on PSO's forum from people that got their DS sets through PSO promos. You may want to post this idea on there as well and then direct people that contact you to this thread. I sold some extra $5000's I wound up with very quickly on PSO's forum.

You could also check with the guy that already had the small denoms need. Send him a PM. Maybe he doesn't use them anymore and you could pick them up from him.

I like these custom small denoms. I'd only likely go for a 10c one for SB. I like the purple more than the yellow though!

I'd like to keep an eye on your thread here and if it takes off, I might be in for a likely 150 or so.

I have tentatively pieced together a group. If anyone else wants in, please let me know soon via PM.

Anyone up for a 25K Desert Sands chip? Maybe in the orange? I could use about 25 if there is enough interest to round out a full 100.

I think NJ has a minimum order of 500 chips on customs.

Re: Desert Sands Customs -- Anyone Want to Split A Set?

kharp is part of the group I am working with. He is just trying to see if he can get enough interest in higher denomination chips. The minimum number of chips per custom set is 500, but there is an additional 100 minimum per chip style. Because he does not want the full 100 of the larger denomination chips, he is trying to see if he can get 2 or 3 others involved that might want that larger denomination chip.

PM me if you are interested.

Re: Desert Sands Customs -- Anyone Want to Split A Set?

Thanks for the clarification CL, I should have posted that originally.

If there isn't enough interest this time, then maybe somewhere down the road.

Re: Desert Sands Customs -- Anyone Want to Split A Set?

Yeah I just sent a PM to clb1963 regarding some external issues which I've got to use the cash I had intended for some custom small denom for. If this doesn't work out now or if you don't get enough interest in the custom 25K chip, I'd still be interested down the road. Until I find out how much this unexpected expense is gonna run me though, I can't commit in the near future.
