I posted this in the wrong forum earlier, so I'm moving it over here to the "GB Discusion" area.


Subject line pretty much nails it.

Being that the Stardust is closing in a month, I though I'd launch the thread to see if there was interest in doing a Tribute Chip to the Stardust.

One thing I really dig about their chips are the shaped inlays. They really had some slick looking chips. Somewhat of a simple design, but I think rather catching.

While most all of their chips are clay, with some BJ's mixed in, I was thinking something along the lines of Ceramic for the tribute.

So..... any interest in a custom Stardust tribute chip?

Edit: I wasn't able to find any scans of their (if they have them) tourney chips with higher denoms, so initially i was thinking of this in a cash set type format / and applicable denoms. Both denoms are of course up for discussion.

Has anyone checked the Stardust auction to see if any chips will be made available?

I like them. They have such a classic old Vegas look. I think they would be better in clay, but with the shaped inlays, I don't know that its possible. Ceramic or clay, I'd probably be up for a sample set.

I've been wanting a ceramic cash set...these would be perfect...I'm in if it goes through, and hopefully we can add some lower denoms and/or a NCV perhaps?

Isn't it mandatory that they be detroyed? I thought I read that in one of the many Stardust closing articles I've seen. I guess that may mean they just get punched or something? Hmmm...

I could see a set in my collection . I like the classic simple look of them. IMO, I think they would translate well to a ceramic (see Binions tributes) if they are not clays.

side note: I have a friend in Vegas that got me some $1 about an hour before they closed the doors. I'll be getting the in a couple of weeks (after Thanksgiving).
