Mardi Gras Queen Chipco's **CLOSED**

I am going to offer a group buy for the remainder of the Mardi Gras Queen Casino. This was a cruise from nowhere that sailed out of Tarpon Springs, Florida from February 2005 thru April 2005 before returning to its previous sailing name, The Horizons Edge.

The reason for the liquidation of these chips is to make room for 3 more casino cage buy outs i am negotiating. The success of this group buy will determine whether or not I will offer other group buys.

Here is a breakdown of the chips I have left:

$1 chip.............9,000 excellent condition
$5 chip.............5,500 excellent condition
$5 chip.............8,000 mint condition
$10 chip............2,500 mint condition
$25 chip............2,000 mint condition

$1 chips...... .35 cents each

$5 chips...... .40 cents each (excellent condition)

$5 chips...... .45 cents each (mint condition)

$10 chips..... .70 cents each

25 chips...... .70 cents each

For the $10 and $25 chips I will have to limit the amount per order to 10% of the other chips purchased for now. As the orders start coming in I will be able to determine what is available and ration them out accordingly.

There will be a 3% Paypal fee added to every order .

Shipping will be based upon the amount of chips ordered and where they will be shipped to. I usually ship USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation but will ship any way you wish. Insurance will be extra.

I also forgot to mention that for every 100 chips bought you receive a Chipco rack.

Re: Mardi Gras Queen Chipco's

Very nice chips!

Maybe this is common and I'm just not aware of it, but why such a higher price for the higher denoms?

I would guess it is because there are fewer chips of the higher demons.

Guma's got it.

Generally when a casino makes chips they don't do as many high values. Therefore they are in shorter supply.

Re: Mardi Gras Queen Chipco's

That makes sense to me if they were being sold as individual chips as collectibles. But since these are being sold in quantity, the pricing model doesn't seem to fit. I don't recall ever seeing full commercial sets sold at different prices for different denoms. I guess it's because these were originally casino chips rather than home chips, but that seems like a bit of a stretch to me. Regardless, the market will decide, not me, I'm just trying to understand. Thanks! Again, very nice chips!

P.S. I understand that they're in shorter supply, but aren't they also in shorter demand? That's the reason they made fewer in the first place.

I see where you are coming from. But the supply is limited the demand is based on what the buyer is looking to do. If I wanted a high value set, I could clean out his inventory. But your're right. The market will decide. The PNY for instance. The 100, 500, and 1000 are going for quite a bit more due to the limited production. The same with 2.50 and 20.00 chips.

I'm running into this problem with my Saharas as well. The whites are in very short supply vs the rest of the colors. So, I've had to limit my offerings on the white to group purchases only.

Did I make any sense there?

Re: Mardi Gras Queen Chipco's

Here is the explanation on why the diferent prices for the chips. The prices I set here are basically 5 cents higher than what I originally paid for these chips. When these chips were produced for the casino there were only a small portion of the higher denominations made.

Here are the quantities of denominations made:

$2.50 chips ............. 400
$10 chips ............... 3500 (made for the poker room and never used)
$25 chips ............... 6000
$100 chips .............. 1400
$500 chips .............. 250
$1000 chips ............. 100

Since the original owner of these chips wanted a higher price for these denominations and my unwillingness to pay a higher price for the higher denomination chips, I passed on the $2.50, $500 and $1000 chips.

I hope this clears up any questions about the different prices.
