UPDATE 10/08 - BOUNTY Chips for Paulson Hotstamps - Discussion Thread

*** UPDATED 10/08 ***

OK, so here are a few updates. I am 100% going ahead with plans to have numbered dealer buttons made. Here are a few details:

They will be made by ABCGiftsAndAwards.com on Gene's 3 1/2" ceramic blanks. You can see more about these here: CLICK ME

- They will be numbered to 50, so make sure you order early.
- These will NEVER be produced again. They are only being made for the group buy, and only 50 are being made
- Seperate buttons are being made for myself, JM, Johnny5, and Josh. These will not be numbered and will vary slightly from the limited edition buttons, so that means all 50 numbered buttons will be available to customers.
- This isnt set in stone yet, but its possible they will only be made available to those who purchase 500 or more chips.
- The design will be basic, like a dealer button should be. I dont have a mockup yet, but imagine the current 'Private Cardroom' stamp design on a white background. The words will wrap around the button, with the word 'DEALER' in the middle. The text will likely be black. Under the word 'DEALER' will be the number, shown as 1/50, 33/50, etc.
- Its possible that you will have the option to get your name on the button right by the number.
- The buttons will be ordered and shipped seperately than the chips.
- They will arrive well before Paulson finishes the hotstamped chips.
- The cost will be between $8-$9. That price includes payment for the button, PayPal fees, and all shipping costs. $8-$9 will be the final price shipped via First Class. (Will be shipped Priority if you purchase novelty chips to go with it)

===============================================================

OK, so heres where I need your help! I really want to make novelty chips to match the Paulson chips. I want them to be rare, so like the dealer button a very limited number will be made, and they will never be produced again. I definately want to do Bounty chips since those are really popular and fun for everyone to use. I also would like ShowEm and Rebuy chips, but those are less popular. To get the low price I was quoted, we would need to order a minimum of 1500 chips. Even if only a few people are interested in the Rebuy and Showem, as long as the Bountys sell good we can have all three made.

Manufacturer: These chips will be made by Gene and ABC. They will have aligned edgespots. Gene is offering us a great price on aligned edges since were ordering 50 buttons, so its worth it to pay the extra few pennies and have them look really cool! The price will be $.85/each.

Design: For the design Im thinking simplicity is good. I wouldnt mind using the 'Private Cardroom' design, with the word 'BOUNTY', 'REBUY', or 'SHOWEM' where the denom would be. Then Im thinking something like four edgespots. The edgespot colors would be different on each of the three chips. On the rolling edge, between each of the four edgespots (which will be aligned!), would be the word 'BOUNTY', 'REBUY', or 'SHOWEM'. Johnny5 is working on some mockups for me, but he is extremely busy so it might take a few days.

Availability: These chips will be ordered with the dealer buttons, seperately from the Paulson chips. They will only be available to those who purchase in the group buy, but you wont have to purchase 500 chips like you do with the button. As long as you purchase chips in the group buy, you can purchase novelty chips. There will probably be a minimum requirement of 10 or 15 total novelty chips, but no minimum for each individual chip. I really want these to be limited, so Im thinking I dont want any more than 1000 bounty chips made, and no more than 500 of the rebuy and showem chips.

I NEED YOUR HELP! Please post your thoughts. Would you buy some novelty chips with your order? Is there a novelty chip I havent listed that you would like to see? And most importantly, how would you want them designed??

If it is limited it makes it that much more special. I only want them to go to people who participate in the group buy, and I imagine that will mean around 50 people. Maybe I will do 75, we'll see. The number is to show what number the button is. 5 years from now if someone sees the button that wasnt around, they will know because of the numbers that the button is limited to only 50 in existance, similar to a trading card or other limited edition items.

1 dealer button sounds good. I'm only making a 10 seater set.
The other's I'd have to see, but would probably only get 1 of each.
I think a 'missed blind' chip would nice for these chips (even though I'm not making a cash set).

Updated the OP. Please discuss so I have a better idea of what everyone wants. Working on mockups, but Johnny5 is extremely busy right now so he'll get them done as soon as he can.

Maybe you should bring this up in the main hotstamp thread with a link to this one. It is possible people are missing this one.
I did that with the Protege thread and had a fair response to the Protege dealer button.
You may have already done this a few pages back at that thread , but I didn't see it. Bump it up over there...

Why cant the novelty chips be paulson chips... just new colors?

Id rather have more options in chip colors than a ceramic novelty chip.(im going to label these)
