If that's the case, is this not the perfect time for CTers to band together and get a real Paulson GB going? In the true spirit of the phrase 'group buy'. Instead of all these pre-buys from retailers? (Don't get me wrong, it's great having all these chipsets out, but a real, from the ground up GB would be fun)

I'm sure that there are restrictions on colors and shapes used, but I think this is a great opportunity to put our minds together. Although the 100k mark is still a very lofty goal.

I have no art skills nor am I experienced at organizing a group buy, so I would defer those duties to those CTers who are more capable. I just thought I would try to get the ball rolling.

With the two recent ASM edge spot group buys, the Protege competition, the previous two or three last year, I think this is a great idea but some of us are pretty tapped out now or our charge cards are maxed.

Very true indeed. I got in on the PNY GB. On the verge of ordering some Proteges before it's too late. And I almost convinced myself to order some of the new shaped Paulsons from PI. So many chips so little money.

OK, Be real here. Assume people would get a 500 chip set (kind of unrealistic)
That's 200 different orders. that's insane.
Assume a worst case scenario of people being tapped out and only getting samples, double or triple the order number to 600.......

Our membership here is around 4000. Assume 5% still have a dime to their name.....which gets you to 200 orders.

I want to help design it like everyone else, but this market is saturated, as Noelsarch mentioned.

Still, that would be nice to do a grass roots Paulson GB. On the TH & C. With the funky spots (TRIPLE SLASH!)

What you need is a Powerball pre Paulson GB mass ticket buy-in.......... and for it to HIT.
THEN you fork over 100,000$ for the Paulson seed money..... and then sell them at 85 cents a piece..... and the masses will follow.

What we need is a plan... hmm...

First, we need the help of our Seattle CTers. Start spreading the rumors that a large company is beginning to work on a chip that will attempt to make other ones obsolete within the next 18 months. If done correctly, this news will filter into Microsoft offices, where Bill Gates will hear about it. Let it leak that some "top people in the industry" are currently helping design the chip series, and this should send him into a panic. He'll start putting pressure on Intel to release the QuadCore, totally bypassing the Core Trio and making most PCs obsolete immediately.

Second, we attempt to get Faux Clay Nation officially recognized by the United Nations. Once recognized, we have them immediately start borrowing money from the G-7 nations to fund our Paulson chip purchase. Once we have enough, we have them declare bankruptcy. Sure, this will lower Faux Clay Nation's international credit rating to "junk" status, but we can easily remedy that in time for the next group buy by announcing that the horrible dictatorship has been overthrown in a bloodless coup, and that we're attempting to introduce democracy to our fledgling nation.

Next, we kidnap William Shatner -- this will throw them off our trail.
