Chips: 1,577 | | | The Next Faux Clay Okay so this is going to seem a little far fetched, but a regular in my Thursday night game has been asking me a bunch of questions about the chips we use, basically chit chat for the first few nights, but it became more detailed about a month ago. I ask him why he has been asking so many questions, and he informs me that his uncle owns an injection molding company that produces seats for roller coasters. I say "Okay, so what." He says, "Well those chips are injection molded." And that's when it hit me. The next faux clay.
Well I approached his uncle and showed him some chips and asked if it was possible to make these. He said it was, but was tied up in a few projects and couldn't give me any specifics without some samples to look at and run tests on. He has them now and is supposed to give me a call in the next few days. If the cost of a small mold is feasible, and the cost of the chips is low I will be looking to make myself new yellow faux clays, with a few basic changes to the mold [recessed center, and no dice, just a textured surface].
Now, to the point of this post. Would you be willing to get some of these chips? How about a color other than yellow? The owner made it sound like color was not issue at all, I am under the impression any color can be done, and repeated.
If you were willing to buy some, how many would you get, and what would you be willing to pay for them. I know the "How much would you pay for a Faux Clay ?" thread(s) are out there, but many of those guesses were made knowing that it was still possible to buy them at .05¢ a piece.
What about a 43mm chip? Any color. How many of those would you buy, and how much would you pay per chip?
Again, I realize that this may seem a little far fetched, but I need to get some general info before I could even think about moving ahead on a group buy. So I am looking for some honest answers, and you don't have to be a member of the Nation to get in on this, or share your opinion!!

As for colors I'd be completely open.
Some day-glos would be nice as well.
For these to appeal to the masses price would play a major factor.
Honestly the most I'd pay would be .10-.15 per.
Of course .05 would always be better.
At .05 I'd be in for 1500-2000.

At $.05, I'd buy 1000-1200, maybe more...
Colors - current fauxs are Ok, but bright day glow options would be on my list (pink, green, blue)
Recessed Center
Classier mold - I'm a fan of the "beaker" spin
Size? - I like the present size (diameter/thickness) of the current fauxs
Thanks Cap'n! |

Price is the biggest factor. If they're $.05 like the current fauxs, I'd be in for 2000 at least. Brighter colors would be great; the current ones are a bit dull. Recessed center and new mold sound great. Can't wait to hear more details. |

I don't like the dice on the Fauxs so anything else or even a blank mold like you said, would be better. Oversized chips would be AWESOME. C O L O R S, C O L O R S, C O L O R S...
More colors than the standards would be great too ... I've never handled a Faux Clay, but I'm going to have faith in everyone's praises, that if these chips are similar to the Fauxs, then I'd definitely be interested in a few. |

Recently, I handled some for the first time. I was BLOWN AWAY by how great they felt and sound. Really, just an incredible chip at an unbelievable price. It's a shame that they've run out of those other colors. |
