GB for Rounders prop chips "KGB" and "Chesterfield"

As many know there have been a series of ebay auctions for the original prop chips from the movie Rounders. Both the KGB chips and the Chesterfields are going under the hammer on eBay.
Some ChipTalk members with more money than I but the same impeccable taste have won some of these auctions. I’m very happy for them but wouldn’t mind getting in on the action myself. There has also been previous talk of a group buy and I'd like to kick off that discussion again. Prices seem to be coming down a bit making this more feasible now than it appeared after the first few auctions went off.

I don’t think it realistic to think the chips, especially the KGB’s, will sell for below $40-$45 a piece, and then only when sold in larger quantities. If this is too rich for your blood I don’t think this group buy is for you.

Personally I am after only 2 of each chip. I will happily take on more if there is not enough interest in this group buy but I don’t think I can justify to my wife going it alone (not that I will tell her but she’ll find out somehow). If someone else, or a group of others are interested, this is doable.

The KGB $1 chips seem only to be available in a set of 5 chips which sell for $600+. Singular chips also sell for about $100 each. I don’t see these auctions as an option for me (or for the proposed group buy). The $5, $25, $100 and $500 KGB's are also being sold in 20 chip lots with 5 of each denomination up for sale. None of these types of auctions are currently listed.

I think aiming for this auction is our best bet. I would dearly love the $100 chip but can live with the other 3 only.

I’d like to gauge other CT members interest in a group buy for one or both of these auctions. First preference should go to those wanting to buy 1 of each denomination as this makes the chips easier to split up. Please indicate what you are willing to commit per chip and for what chips.

For KGB’s or Chesterfields I am willing to commit $50 per chip for 2 of each. As I said before I am willing to take on more if there is not enough interest in this. Please let me know what you are willing to commit per chip. If we get 9 others willing to commit up to $50 per chip for a set (+ portion of shipping and fees etc) anyone willing to only commit $45 will unfortunately miss out.

Does this sound fair? If you have an alternate suggestion let me know.

I am willing to front this, win the auction, pay for the chips and then distribute them. Unfortunately that will add to the price of each chip and the time it will take you to get them because:
1. I will have to pay customs duty on them to get them into Australia; and
2. I live in Australia and it takes ages to ship stuff here sometimes.

If someone else wants to front it I will happily hand over the reigns. I am willing to pay as soon as the auction is won.

Anybody interested?

I'd like at least 1 chip. The 100 if possible, but I'd settle for whatever. I'm in for at least 1, if you get them at a good price, I'd be in for more than 1.

Edit- 1 KGB chip that is. I'm not interested in a chesterfield chip.

I am one of the afore mentioned members that bought a bunch of these chips, Chesterfields in my case.

I have three sets of fours chips available if you would like to consider them before or during your GB. They are $1, $5, $25, $100 Chesterfields.

I paid $62.50 each for these a little while ago, and I am happy to let them go at cost. Obviously if you can organise your own GB that manages to beat that price, you should go with that.

My preference would be to sell them in sets of four.

I should note that they are not yet in my possession. Delivery from the vendor takes a while.

I just wanted to let you know that they were available in case it made a difference.

I got a set of 20 that I'd be willing to trade. I really want a $1 chip from KGB and a $500 chip from the Chesterfield. I'm willing to trade and throw in for a couples sets to get these two chips.

If not, I'm selling what I don't trade on ebay to maximize my chance to get these two chips.

of course the seller is wise enough to hold off shipping till their auctions run their course.
