**New NCV Version Coming!** Group Buy for Paulson Hotstamp Chips

1/25/07 - NEW NCV VERSION COMING! SEE THIS POST...
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/466458-post1183.html

The Hotstamped Paulson Group Buy - Updated 12/13/06

12/13/06 - They have arrived and started shipping!

12/06/06 - Paulson has notified Apache that delivery is delayed by one day to December 13th

11/04/06 - Paulson has notified Apache that they can pick up the chips on December 12th!

10/22/06 - The presale has ended.

10/13/06 - The presale has begun! Now through next friday 10/20/06 only. Use this URL

http://www.apachepokerchips.com/groupbuy.html

Chips are 79 cents each BUT if you pay by check or money order, they will be only 77 cents each!!

Minimum order is 300 chips (except for sample sets). There are 5 pre-defined quantities you can order from the link: 300, 400, 500, 650 and 1000 chips. You CAN order a quantity that is not listed here, but you have to do so over the phone and let them know you are calling for the CT groupbuy.
If you are ordering by check, when you print out the order, all of the instructions will be there for you as to where to send it, etc.

No rebuys/addons. Once the sale is over, it will be full retail pricing (but I don't know what that will be).

Anyone ordering through this special link will get a free Stardust $1 chip in an airtite with their order

Nugzy will update the info on the specialty chips once he's got those details worked out.

10/12/06 - Here is a picture of the actual chip paulson did as a test run, and below it is a the same chip with the mockup of our hotstamp on it. The recessed area is approximately 15/16" in diameter for those who are interested in custom labels.

10/10/06 - This is the hotstamp and style of chip we will be using:

Chips will be done on the suits mold using all chips from the blue up to the silver chip.

General
- They will use the new suits mold set. Same colors and patterns

Denominations
- Standard denominations from 1 - 1000 starting with the blue chip and a non denomination (aka NCV) stamp on the silver chip.

Custom Labels
These chips are going to be perfect for custom labels. I will likely use my set for custom labels. With so many different label options now, and so many great designers, you can have your own set of custom Paulson chips for less than the price of any Paulson chip on the market!

Pricing
- The group buy price will be $.79/chip.
- Retail price has not yet been set, but it will definately be higher than the group buy price.

Extras
- We will be making "novelty" chips based on the final hotstamp design so that they can be used with the set.
- "Novelty" chips may include any of the following...
-- Bounty Chips
-- Rebuy Chips
-- Rabbit Hunt Chips
-- Show 'Em Chips

- Limited Edition (Maybe Numbered?) Dealer Buttons
I would really like to make numbered Limited Edition dealer buttons that would only go out to those who purchase their chips in the group buy. They would also be limited to no more than 50 or 100.

ETA
- Once we finish the design, the chips will take 9-11 weeks to be made.

====================================================

If you submit an idea that we end up using for the chip, I can not guarantee you anything in return. However, I will do my best to either get you a nice free chip set, or something else for your hard work and effort, even if it comes from my own pocket.

Re: Group Buy for Paulson Hotstamp Chips

According to Josh, we have a choice of the JB2005 mold or the current NPS/pharaohs mold. I'd suggest going with the JB mold as it has more inlay area for a larger hotstamp and generally looks better I think without that big blank area between the inlay area and the edge.

The other choice is the color set. We can use either the JB2005/pharaohs color/spot configuration OR the NPS color/spot configuration. Some questions about mixing and matching I asked Josh and he said he was pretty sure we could not mix colors/spots from both sets. He did say the following though:
Not 100% sure the NPS can be used on the JB2005 but I do think so.

The key to a good hs is a very simple design. Not to much detail. Paulson will only use their own die. Custom edge spots are out of the question. The NPS edge spots should be fine. I already asked Paulson if I could do solid colors and was turned down. I am very sure a grand stamp will be no problem.
Keep in mind that a hot stamp has to be kind of plain. Also it must appeal to a lot of different people. Paulson makes you place such a large order that I will only be able to do one set of hot stamps so they have to be very nice.

So, we need to come up with a killer grand hotstamp. I'd love to see the Avalon stamp happen, but I think its too much detail for a hotstamp from what Dennis at TRK has said previously Maybe a more line art version could be done?

Also, sales (or promotions) offers in which the manufacturer/retailer becomes directly involved fall out of the “group buy” realm and become direct sales, which, according to our site rules, require the manufacturer/retailer to rent a sponsored forum from which to facilitate their sales. As long as you're facilitating the GB, we should be ok.

I'm really into the NPS edge patterns. I hope that what ever hotstamp is approve will be on these chips. I also believe these chips are "chunkier" than the JB's.

Re: Group Buy for Paulson Hotstamp Chips

Allright, silly questions to follow, but I'm being silly tonight.

We are only doing one hotstamp, right?
Therefore no denoms.... correct?

Therefore are people using this to fill in holes in their NPS sets or JB sets or are these fresh new sets?

I am trying to wrap my head around who's interested in which chips (like who wants NPS blacks vs. JB oranges or what have you)

Nugzy can fill in the holes here.......

My 2 cents: If this does happen and I can dig the hotstamp, I would be very happy with just the NPS green and black chip. (and if the price is right)

............Just a little excited is all.

Re: Group Buy for Paulson Hotstamp Chips

We go through alot of the TM paulson chip which we add a custom inlay over the existing one- depending on the price of these AND if the center is recessed enough I may be interested in 10,000+ of these-?? more--

I know Paulson wont release just a blank chip for inlays so we're foced to rebadge existing ones for our customers-- this may be another avenue for us -- I think the thickness of the hotstamp will be LESS then having an inlay in the chip- and we may get away with using our thicker lamination on these without effecting stackability.

Keep me posted on this in case I dont follow this thread

Looks promising!
